Friend (66) of my dad just survived west nile virius (very deadly) for older people. Both are different but it goes to show how good doctors and medicine can be these days.

Sorry, hope they recover quickly. The flu is horrible, wonder where they caught that this time of year?

Thanks for all the well wishes. My dad is blind from ARMD and has dementia and that adds a whole extra layer. He is so miserable from the aches. Fever is somewhat under control but he is moaning and groaning on every exhale. Has also had 2 breathing treatments. Gotten a lil sleep and is snoring now. Had hiccups, sometimes 2 in succession ,for 2 whole hours. Hate this. Not only does my mom have the flu she also has a UTI. My sister is with her and we have rooms next to each other.

Something to look forward to as I age. But I wouldn't want to be anywhere else but by his bedside. Ok I lied. I would like to be somewhere else. Plus he fell and cracked L2 in April and is no longer ambulatory. Have 24/7 care and are lucky to have 3 most excellant caregivers. Sorry for the rant but, hey, I feel better!
