I had a Bosch DW in my house. Biggest disappointment ever when it comes to household appliances. Just my 2 cents. I have a GE "Cafe" series now.

Bosch is the GE of Europe. Nothing wrong with that.

Not sure how you feel about consumer reports recommended models but 5 of their ten recommended models are Bosch with the top 2 being Bosch and 4 of the top 5. Here is a list of the recommended models.

1 - Bosch Ascenta SHX3AR75UC
2 - Bosch 300 DLX Series SHS863WD5N
3 - Thermador DWHD660WFP
4 - Bosch 100 Series SHXM4AY55N
5 - Bosch Benchmark SHX89PW55N
6 - Kitchenaid KDTM354DSS
7 - Thermador DWHD770WFM
8 - Bosch 300 Series SHEM63W55N
9 - Whirlpool WDF540PADM
10 - Ikea Renlig IUD7070DS [288921]

There are several other Bosch and Kitchenaid models that are rated the same as those listed here but CR states they are are similar to one of the models listed so do not list them separately. If you're curios for a little more info on the CR rating I can get that to you.

We have a Kenmore, which is almost definitely a whirlpool. It work OK but if I had it to do all over again, I'd probably go Bosch.

My GE washer is on it's way out. It's 12 years old and the door is finicky on when it decides it detects that it's shut. Sometimes slamming the door works but a lot of the time it doesn't. I am super paranoid about buying a new one that's the wrong size. Am I stressing out unnecessarily?

It's been about five years, but every Maytag and Whirlpool appliance we had was stickered with ASSEMBLED IN AMERICA. It could be different now. I hope it is different, but most of the parts were out of Mexico.

I read CR and it is pretty neat how Bosch is top in most. I'm sorta leaning that way.

I only ask because a lot of people have been put off by their usage of environmental criteria in some of their assessments. But even when they do it's pretty easy to weed through that. I have a digital subscription to CR and use it frequently to asses my purchases.

My house came with a GE dishwasher, but it's going away this year.

The POS can't even clean itself. There's residue of Cascade on the inside of the door streaking down from the soap compartment.

I have to wash everything by hand, then loading and running the dishwasher is just a ritual I follow. I wouldn't be surprised if the dishes come out of the dishwasher dirtier.

The replacement will be a Bosch.

Just had a new Bosch installed this week. Like it a lot. Would recommend. But, you need to use the liquid drying agents like jet dry, etc & use the extra dry option to get the dishes the most dry as possible. Very quiet and efficient. Best of luck.

We added Fisher & Paykel single drawer dishwasher under the microwave. I love having a sword d option for overflow.

I ended up going with the Bosch 500 series from Lowe’s. They were offering free installation and no sales tax so it was a no brainer.

Key difference - Bosch air dries whereas KA has a heating element for drying We went with KA primarily for complete drying and have been satisfied. The key complaint with Bosch is wet dishes!
