Thanks, this intrigues me.
If it is more and more the case, why aren't more Americans aware?

Aware of what? That there are still local owned dairy farms?
To be sure dairy farming is a very hard business and a lot of them have disappeared over the years. A lot of farms close to urban areas have been developed into suburbs. A lot of the younger generations move to more urban areas for economic opportunities.
My circumstance is an old family farm that my great grandparents and grandparents lived on and farmed but after them it has been managed by me although I’ve never lived on it nor generated my main income from it. And I know quite a lot of people like me. Some are just absentee owners that don’t do anything some, like me actually manage the property and production but have another local owner farm it.
Farmers work their arse off and basically get one paycheck a year. When they sell that crop.

Well Borden’s buys from local dairy farms across the country. They don’t own their own herds or if they do it’s a small amount.

Maybe number of farms, but what about production? Is it 90/10?
I'd bet it's close
In the rice industry it's more than 90% of the production
A family farm doesn't mean small

Call me old fashioned but I think it's super gay to not drink milk.

A friend convinced me to do keto to lose weight, and I need to.
But I loooooooove milk. An ice cold glass is divine, especially out of a copper mug.
So I figured I’d try almond and coconut “milk”
This crap doesn’t even taste anything like milk at all. It’s like they didn’t even try.

Drink a small glass of half and half or heavy cream both allowed on keto.
