I think Parker and Stone sacrificed too much to get it made. South Park got a lot less biting of the left after it started playing. Gotta play nice with their new lefty stage masters, evidently.

That's an explanation. They make fun of everybody, so I was on board with the season that shat all over Trump, during the election.

But they didn't do anything to Hillary, Bernie, or Bill. Hell, they made Bill sympathetic. And then they just kept riding on Trump after that season. They've let up on him on the last season a bit, but they have NOT been equal opportunity satirists. They even went away from libertarianism on Wikileaks, but at the same time went anti-trolling.

Then this last season, they acted like people are desensitized to school shootings, which...no. Their last great moment in my memory was the Steven Segal and co. "Safe Space" song. Although they did hit the nail at the end of two seasons ago talking about people wanting to be professional victims, but simultaneous got it wrong when they said no one is coming after Christmas, the "Whites" (lol at the pun though), etc.

They also got it wrong about how Charlottesville is an example of legitimately resurging white nationalists who are physically dangerous and "emboldened" by Trump or something, as opposed to being a defense against anti-whiteness or an emboldening of the handful of weirdos left. But I did like last season where they said the Catholic Church is going to have to do some real, legitimate house cleaning up as high to the top as necessary, do some personal soul searching, and take the earned ridicule for a while.

I don't know where their heads are at recently overall, though. It almost feels leftist. It's like they've fallen to the leftist propaganda of categorical anti-Trump and "whites are both overreacting and also ruining everything." It's just weird to see them get so many things wrong.

The same year their play premiered, tehy did the "arse Burgers" episode, at the end of which Kyle says "sometimes, the only way to go forward is to take a sharp left turn."

I was hoping that wasn't a message to the audience, but it seems to have been. When the election was going on, they turned Garrison into Trump and actually said of Hillary "she's really no that bad."

The PC babies gave me hope, though, especially with their new hit single about the injustices of white people wearing dreadlocks, called "Whaaaa." But even that whole plot, with PC Principal taking over the school, is presented in a "get used to it, that's the way it is now" way.

It's a good play, but it's not that fricking good.
