Dude could have gone anywhere and done anything. But he decided to move back to Bogalusa.

For that I respect him and I hope he succeeds in cleaning that slum up.

I’ve been hearing that Bogalusa is the next St. George

In Iberville Parish there is a black kid who ran for parish councilman when he turned 18, he won a second term. Evidently the kid gets things done, goes around to talk to his constituents all the time, etc.

Maybe they need younger people in office who still have some type of innocence in terms of not realizing that its all a corrupt shite show.

Perrette wished Truong well in her concession statement, but also said, “Young Tyrin has demonstrated repeatedly during this campaign that he lacks the skills necessary to lead and unite our city.”

He may turn out to be shite, but the old system hasn’t worked out to well for Bogalusa. It would be moronic for voters to keep electing the same old failure politicians who claim to have the necessary skills. He can’t do much worse than his predecessors.

I wish the guy well but damn does he have a mess to clean up there. It’s sad what that town has become. Though you could say that about a ton of small towns in this state

Looks similar to VMI.

Washington University, not Bogalusa.

Growing up in LA, I always thought Bogalusa was in Acadiana, somewhere within the 20x20 mile square formed by connecting Crowley, Eunice, Opelousas, and Carencro. Maybe this was due to the name similarity between Bogalusa and Opelousas. Doing more research, it looks like the demographics of the town (population , household income, percentages of total population by race) are quite similar to the four aforementioned Acadiana towns.

And Perrette came in 3rd with less than 20% of the vote, so you know there was some kind of issue, aside from crime. You don't see incumbents running for a 3rd term getting less than 20% of the vote usually.

Likely only cost a couple of dime bags to campaign in Bogalusa.

Skyrocketing crime, PD in shambles, schools crumbling, and lack of any initiative to expand the plant and help the handful of other businesses there. It’s not all her fault but she sure as hell wasn’t making it better.

Here’s my negative take. He’s a democratic socialist with a drug dealing dad who funded his campaign. I won’t be surprised if all these shootings don’t suddenly stop as soon as he takes office.

Do you know this or are you just spitballing a possible scenario? If what you say is true, he sounds like the son of a self-made entrepreneur who will decrease violent crime in the city. Sounds positive to me.

He was smart about it during the campaign. The only redeeming quality about Bogalusa right now is the championship level football team. And if you go to a game they announce his name and campaign slogan every five minutes. I’m not sure how much money he contributed to the team or the school but it must’ve been substantial and I guarantee you it hit the mark

I’m sure a city with little tax base will thrive with Dem-Lib policies This will be an utter failure.

I hope it works out. Personally I’m tired of career politicians winning and nothing changes.

Common sense politics right there. Wish this was a pre-requisite for the presidency.
