Boeing admits it can’t find records on the Alaska Airlines door plug work

Remember the door that just flew of in midair on the Boeing 737 Max? Well…

quote:
Boeing leadership admitted Friday in a letter sent to Sen. Maria Cantwell that it cannot find any record of the work done on the 737 MAX final assembly line in Renton to open and reinstall the panel that blew out Jan. 5 on Alaska Airlines Flight 1282.
Boeing’s presumption is that no record was ever created.
quote:
It looks like no records were kept, or, if they were, they were deleted. Either way, this is a serious, potentially illegal, lapse in standard aviation manufacturing quality processes.
quote:
The NTSB has repeatedly asked Boeing for the names of employees involved in the work, and as of noon Friday, Homendy told The Air Current, “We still don’t know who did the work on the door plug.”

Can't blame DEI policies if you can't identify the employees. The narrative must be defended at all costs.

Funny, and the secret service also has no idea who brought cocaine into the whitehouse.

You would think the women who did the maintenance would be good at keeping records from their time as Boeing secretaries.

when quality and safety takes a back seat to making the shareholders rich, shite like this will continue to happen, and even possibly get worse.

You forgot DEI

DEI is just another attempt at saving money by hiring underqualified employees to meet a quota, so that plays into the "making shareholders rich".
the biggest mistake Boeing ever made was being absorbed into McDonald Douglas - those motherfrickers were terrible

They haven't been doing that well either.

As a former employee....they know everything abd everyone that walked on to the plane. Something is amiss

Wrong, so wrong. Companies pay huge money for this department, including executives.

This is what happens when you stop using rivets.

Maybe they don’t have maintenance records… but surely they have time and attendance records of who worked in that area on that day, and possible even cameras on that area

They need to be raked over the coals for this. Make them feel the pain for protecting their DEI garbage.

Totally false.
They waste so much money on empty training, token hires, and I promise you they pay them fast more than they are worth, and it actually costs the higher performers money off their raises.
I know they are trying to appease ESG investors, but it's hard to imagine the financial perk of that being worth the headaches, the damage to quality, divisive culture, politics, engagement floundering, good talent getting pissed and leaving...
They pay big money for this woke trash.

Didn’t they also “lose” the CVR? Lol

It also places a heavier burden on the people who are actually qualified to not only execute the work, but also carry all the people who are not.

That gets old REALLY fast and most people stop. As a result, things go south and management blames everyone.
