Boeing Co. is closing in on a key milestone toward returning its beleaguered 737 Max to the commercial market, targeting later this month for hosting U.S. regulators on a flight to test the jet’s upgraded systems. The company separately is notifying airlines of an important fix to the grounded jetliner’s wiring, said two people familiar with the planning who asked not to be named discussing sensitive matters. A draft of revised pilot training for the plane, which has been parked around the world since March 2019 as a result of two fatal crashes that killed 346 people, is also being shared with airlines, the people said.

I bet those FAA "regulators" are standing in line to be the first to fly on those 737's.

Boeing should have Gaston work on it for them, the overpowering smell of av gas will knock out the passengers before they all die.

Oh good, it will return just in time to NOT be needed due to airlines going under for lack of business...

Won't be riding on one for a while. Boeing sucks and has for a while ever since the Lockhead bean counters have been running things since the early 2000's. Institutional rot that needs to be uprooted before that once proud company has a chance of being what it used to be.

They're also about to get routed in the space business by Elon.

Probably will be the safest airliner on the market now.

People say rename it like people aren’t going to realize the 737 Ultra isn’t really just the 737 max

No point changing the name. The flying public will know what a max is.
Boeing really needs to focus on their next clean sheet and getting it right.

Boeing is run by the buddy system. Same with United Launch alliance. Which is Boeing and Lockheed together. Experienced it first hand. Any company run like this who hires friends instead of qualifying experience this is what you get.
