1)That's the law. You can do as you wish.

2)This stop had nothing to do with the actions of the driver and was entirely personal. The driver knew the cop and had good reason not to comply.

Let me ask you- if you know a dirty cop, and he attempts to pull you over and you have legitimate fear of your life (like here)- what do you do?

Keep in mind your 6 year old us in the car with you.

Please elaborate. I based my comment on several accounts that they tried to pull the guy over and he didn't comply. This is the first I'm reading of any kind of love triangle/affair/personal vendetta. There's obviously more to this story. It was also previously reported that the guy came at them with his vehicle which could be considered deadly force. The video that was just released appears to be from the last guy that rolled up on the scene. Who knows what happened before that. I may be misinformed or missing some information but I'm far from ignorant.

He was going to die regardless of what he did.

Cops shooting up a car (with a child passenger) over a personal issue.

It's sad how unsurprising this is.

Ummm... because you have a legitimate reason to think that the person trying to stop you has intentions of killing you?

You need to read more about this story before going full bore retard.

These two dirty marshals pulled this guy over because he was sleeping with his exgf. It was all about personal beef.

After the shoot, they claimed he had a gun. No gun. Then they claimed he had a warrant. No warrant. Then they claimed he tried to run them over. Then they declined to write a police report of what happened, probably to avoid perjury charges and/or self incrimination. Finally video footage from the body cam comes out and shows the whole thing.

These two dudes are dangers to society.

You jumped to conclusions based on personal bias.

He'd been harassed for months. had no warrant for his arrest (which is what the marshal service is for) and they continued to follow him and basically try to intimidate him.

Derek Stafford had a history of violent behavior. This was not a one time thing. They followed him in an effort to put him in the ground and accidentally killed the kid. There is a reason their body cameras were not turned on.

There is no "may" about it.

Amongst the many things of which you are ignorant is the definition of the word ignorant.

Judging by his arm in the beginning of the vehicle, all I see is a white police officer getting out of his ford explorer and shooting at a white ford escape.

Serious question. Can a car be viewed as a weapon?
Yes. There was a case in NC or SC where an 18 year old was asked to buy some weed by an undercover cop so I guess if you get thrown enough money anyone will buy it, whatever. But when he is in the parking lot waiting for the guy to get the weed, a cop pulls up and flashes his lights. The 18 year old, white male mind you, drives the car away from the cop in the parking lot. The cop shots and kills him and the coroner says the bullets entered through the boys back. The cop claims self defense since the boy was using his vehicle as a weapon, even though I don't know how effective a car is as a weapon when you are driving away from your 'target'.

This all the way. That kid's death is 100% on his idiot father. When he decided to run from the cops, he put his son's life in jeopardy. If I was a cop, I would automatically think that the guy was up to no good when he ran. I would have definitely been on high alert and considered any movement from him to be dangerous. The cops didn't even know the kid was in the car.
frick you pig!

You are saying, that cops have the right to kill, no strike that, MURDER any citizen for not obeying an order? Someone doesn't want to get out of the car and just drives away, sure go get his arse, but where at in their dumb simple little mind, do they think it is A OK to open fire on someone just because they are driving away.

Why even pull people over anymore, when you can just straight up murder them, since they are "fleeing" once you flip the lights on.

Ok...I walked right in to that one

As I previously stated, until this thread, I was unaware of any kind of personal matters between this guy and the marshalls. If that's true, then this situation is clearly messed up.

Yes it is true. This is well documented.

I mean it's messed up regardless, they opened fire on a guy who had his hands in the air, no weapon, no warrant out for his arrest, who was making no aggressive motions toward them.

Just running away doesn't give the cops the right to blast you.

These are white folks. Sadly, there is no one who cares about this other than the family.
