You don't shoot someone for putting their car in reverse and moving their car 10-15 ft. If the cops shot someone every time someone failed to listen to them we would have 100K police shootings a year. Remember a 6yr old kid was killed because these guys acted with malice. One of the cops that was the shooter had the hots for the victims wife. They had a previous run in where Greenhouse (one of the shooters) showed up at their house trying to score some arse.

Megan Dixon, who is engaged to the wounded father, Chris Few, told The Advocate that officer Norris Greenhouse had started messaging her on Facebook before the shooting. Greenhouse, her high school classmate, also showed up to see her at the house she and Few were sharing, the site reports.
“I told Chris and Chris confronted him about it and told him, ‘Next time you come to my house I’m going to hurt you,’” Dixon said. It’s unclear exactly when that incident occurred, or whether the trio were in touch before the shooting.

You have no idea what you are talking about. These weren't real cops. They were marshals. They had no business pulling this guy over. It is outside of their authority. The marshals had a personal issue with the man and had been harassing him.

I don't think you are basing this off of anything at all. Just pulling shite out of your arse. Iirc from when the story was originally reported the marshals had tailed the man from his ex's house where he had picked up his son. Someone can fact check that. It's likely that they did or should have known that the child was in the car.

That's crazy. What were the charges on these two cops anyway? 2nd degree?

This all the way. That kid's death is 100% on his idiot father. When he decided to run from the cops, he put his son's life in jeopardy. If I was a cop, I would automatically think that the guy was up to no good when he ran. I would have definitely been on high alert and considered any movement from him to be dangerous. The cops didn't even know the kid was in the car.

For clarification on a marshals job title. Apparently they technically can pull over and write tickets, but it isn't typically what they are expected to do. So they were technically within their authority, but they were abusing the limits of their authority because of a personal altercation with a citizen.

quote:

Major Brown said marshals and deputy marshals are protected by the state law, but they still have to use their own discretion and each town and city determines what the marshals can do.

In Marksville, Mayor John Lemoine said he never gave the "okay" for marshals to patrol the city. It's why he sent a letter to the Louisiana Attorney General's office concerned about their role.

"We had some police officers that were within the city limits that were not working for us at the time, and we just wanted to make sure that was not a liability to the city," said Lemoine.

Despite the outlined job responsibilities by state law, the former city marshal in Marksville said when he was in office, it was only him and one other person and all they did was deliver court orders to people. He said they never patrolled in the city.

Considering the guy had prior relationship with the father/fiance of father of the killed child, this probably can be connected to murder

This was an illegal stop made under false pretenses. The only reason he was pulled over was because he was sleeping with one of the marshals ex girlfriends and he was doing a little payback. He had no legal obligation to comply with anything they said.

The only people that played stupid games is these marshals who are now facing a murder charge after killing a 6 year old.

Not watching that video btw. I sleep well enough at night.

This mentality is so dumb. If you know you did nothing wrong, what is the harm in stopping, explaining yourself and going on with your day.

Somebody needs to pull the old thread up about all this. In short story, these marshalls, who where out of there jurisdiction, lied multiple times in there story on what happen, and pretty much murdered the shite out of this guy. Almost all of the evidence had come out around the time the thread was ending, and it was a 90 percent chance that these dudes murdered that guy and his child.

It was a personal beef. They just forgot to turn off the body cams.

Will black people protest a white person being shot by the cops? For the first time ever?

because he knew that the guy wanted to hurt him and he had his child in the car.

y'all are looking at this for something it isn't. this wasn't a pull-over followed by a car chase, stafford and greenhouse wanted to intimidate and harm the guy, and didn't know his child was in the car.

they weren't doing their job, they were out to hurt him.
