This post deserves some sort of award. Not a Nobel or Pulitzer but maybe a Frost Medal or something similar.

Is that Dylan or are those some of the ones he stole from Ramblin Jack Elliott? Elliot's son has always made the point that Dylan hadn't done much of anything until after he hung out with his father in his dying days
There'd be no Dylan without Woody, tis true. Or without Son House or amphetamines or Lord Byron. But there was all that, and Zimmerman alchemized it all together in to something so familiar, yet so mystical and ethereal. He lifted things, like any other artist, flat out stole things, but he took the artform of songwriting into uncharted territory and changed the way people thought about, and artists approached, music. And all the while, he lived out his own character arc within the music. Bob Dylan. He might tell you he's been Zimmerman all along.

I meant Woody, regarding the death part. I get confused in the early evening while injecting cocaine into my dick.

Dylan deserves the Nobel Prize in literature for It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) alone. Greatest songwriter of all time and one the great poets of the 20th century.
Most underrated songwriter IMO: Townes Van Zandt.

Bob will always be the litmus test for who is and is not an idiot. It never fails.

Lay Lady Lay is a terrific song. My personal favorite from Dylan.

And to this day, Ritchie Havens claims Dylan stole All Along the Watchtower from him.
Now that you mention it, this does sound like Richie Havens.

Man it would be a neat trick for Havens to make any claims at all "to this day" seeing as how he's been dead as a hammer for three years.
