Freeman has a new 56’ cat coming out and 5 deposits are down @ $3.5 mil.
Last time I went to the Houston boat show I walked around mathing down payments and monthly notes.

Good because there is zero reason for boats to be grossly overpriced like they are now. They jumped on the COVID train and even raised prices from there. They deserve to suffer for a while.

Ikon releasing a fully loaded bass boat that can't reach 75 mph for $140k was peak idiocy.

O - Over
A - And
T - Take it

That boat should sell for about $65k IMO.
You are stuck in 2001 pricing if you think that boat should sell for 65K. I don't disagree its outrageous but you can't even buy a 15 year old decent wake surf boat at that price

and it's not even a fishing boat...

I'd rather pay close to $200k for a 25' Blackjack with a 300 hp Yammy.....no T-op...T-Tops are gay

This would reduce my current payment by about $8.50 /mnth.

They SHOULD pay people to take those things. Its a wake boat.

Point stands. That is a purely recreational small vessel. How is that worth as much as something like this?

There are some damn good deals on used boats of all sizes out there right now.

I was window shopping the other day and saw a 2010-ish 34 contender in good shape low hours and ready to fish for $100k. Not that it's a screaming deal or anything, but it is a good sign that sanity is re-entering the market. That boat would have sold for $135k in about 15 minutes in 2022.

Need vehicles to do the same. Still high as frick.

It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. and btw I'd 100% drive that one you linked if I had immediate access to deep open waters.

While that is indeed a sexy boat and close to what I want, $120k for that is retarded as well. It's a used bay boat, probably was used as a charter boat based on the hours. For that much money you can get a very serviceable and ready to fish 32'+ offshore boat with 2 engines.

It's fun to look at but financing has made people lose all concept of how much money $120k is, especially to blow on a recreational toy. That's double the gross median income in Louisiana yet you can see a 256 blackjack hooked to a 5 year old or newer F250 diesel at every single boat launch south of hwy 90. I bet that boat sits for quite a while at that price these days.

It's a sore subject for me. People financing this shite for 15 and 20 years completely broke the market.

165 hours in 2 years is child's play.......I know weekend warriors that put that many hours on in a year....but you could be right.....bc those charter guys get incentives to trade or sell their boats for the newest shiniest boat out there

What if I dont want an offshore boat with 2 engines? Bigger boat, more engines, more problems........I'm too old for the offshore shite unless it's someone else's boat......I's rather stay closer to land

That's a lot of engine hours in 2 years on a recreational fishing boat.

That's not the point. The point is that boat should not cost nearly that much. It has no features that justify the price. It's not very big. It has a single engine. It doesn't have a head. It doesn't have a fresh water tank. It doesn't have a windlass. It doesn't have a trolling motor. It doesn't have a top. It doesn't have any of the features that drive the construction price of a vessel up other than being a well built 3 piece boat with an expensive engine on it (a whole nother topic) and some VERY attractive lines. If you can get past the lines, it's a pretty spartan fish killer with some day cruiser attributes to make the wife happy. Great boat, not worth anywhere near the asking price.

At least a 30' trawler at that price has enough raw material and construction steps in it to justify a higher cost that is in line with a modest home.

Similar to the wakeboat, that boat SHOULD be about $65k, which is still a lot of money but would make sense in todays economy.
