Z4 concept with production model being shown I believe March 6th along with the Toyota Supra.

2014 Turbo s
I don’t know how fast we did ours in but it was scorching. from what I understand, Porsche is notorious for listing times slower than what they can really do. I think Porsche lists a 2.8 sec 0-60 but it can go faster.

Kidney grills on the concept look hideous:
Spy photos don't look quite as bad, but still potential to be hideous.
Not a fan of the squinty headlights. Also wish they would have kept the classic round Angel eyes, they have been gone for several years.
If they frick up the kidney grilles this thing will be a huge disappointment. Soccer moms will still buy, but that is about it.

The only two negatives about the new M5 is the fact that it doesn't come with a manual tranmission & it weighs a shite ton (4,370 lbs to be exact).

Not sure why BMW is going with the "Kidney Grill" but I'm not that big of a fan tbh.

Agreed, It will be nearly impossible for the new Supra to capture the same magic as the Old one.. Especially from a tuning stand point. The 2JZ tuned right can make stupid amount of HP and still drive it regularly.

Depends on what set of numbers you believe.
There's a guy in the MKV forums that is nonchalantly telling everyone some of the reported numbers are bogus.
There is also a GRMN high end version that will have hp north of 400.
But if Toyota decides to make a FT86 (nice handling car with no fricking horsepower) and try to sell it for 60k, I will have a hard time trusting Toyota with anything sports related ever again.

M5's depreciate like crazy. Buy new and you'll see 40K disaappear in 2yrs.
KBB private sell for a 2016 M5, 30K mile is @$63K. This is a 105-115K sticker car.

quote:Wise comment. I'm actually waiting to see what the Genesis G70 looks like in person before deciding on my next vehicle. Since Hyundai hired Albert Biermann (led the development of the M-Series at BMW). I've paid closer attention to how they are moving Genesis into a position to battle the European & Japanese sedans.

thought this thread was going to be about the guy who got stuck in an accelerating BMW and called the police to tire strip his car.

I feel like they are sitting on their hands as far as the FT86 is concerned. You have people (like myself) that miss the Toyota MR2. Yet, Toyota does nothing to give that market what it wants.
Also, since we are discussing BMW's. I'm not a huge fan of what the M3 might look like.

So you got to ride in a 918? That’s the only Porsche that I know of that can do that unless it was some modded 911 turbo
The stock 991 Turbo S will run 2.7 0-60 in good conditions, 2.6 in really good conditions. You can never use the official Porsche numbers as they are the some of the most conservative of any manufacturer. Porsche's official number are ones that can be replicated in most any conditions and run them over an over back to back. While there is no doubt the M5 will be very fast the 2.8 is however a C&D number and C&D is known for getting the fastest acceleration numbers for car. Here is a blurb on from C&D on the 991 Turbo S:
quote:
In that test, the Turbo S reached 60 mph in 2.6 seconds and ran the quarter-mile in 10.6 seconds at 131 mph.
The more you know...
