I misunderstood your post.

Have never even heard of Pied Piper . I'll give it a shot, but Jeni's is so good. I don't care if its a national chain if they employ locals and make an excellent product.

ETA:

It was pre-2nd coffee when I read it and didn't even notice the JLo reference

pied piper is great..they even allow a few other places around town to sell it but i'm drawing a blank at the moment of where i've seen it.

they are at 5 points right beside "beyond the edge" across from "i dream of wennie". you should try it out sometime..crazy flavors of ice cream.

......did all these folks forget that those asshats blatantly gave 2 shits that led to 3 people dying?

If that was the case, they would have not voluntarily shut down. Yeah, the feds probably at some point would have made them, but it never got to that.

It's a 100 year old company. Something very bad happened. They fixed it. I think we can afford to allow companies to have one screwup every 100 years.

That having been said, while I'l gladly buy it for personal consumption, if I owned a business that sold ice cream, I'd hold off a while on selling Blue Bell.

Never understood why people bought blue bell when Baskin Robbins carries quarts 2 for $10 in their stores and have killed zero people.

People who are devoted to blue bell are just yearning for the good ole days. It sure as hell is not bc of the quality or price.

Ben & Jerry's Phish Food is my favorite.

I love Phish Food. I used to eat a pint a night for months when I was sick and dangerously underweight. It has about 1200 calories a container and about 60 grams of fat. (They container lists about 280 calories and 13 grams "per cup/4 oz).

But Bluebell!!! Oh i love it and the different flavors they have. I love the crazy cookie dough flavor!! I am glad they are back and even after the recall, I ate the gallon of chocolate that my husband hid in the back freezer.

Listeria is very dangerous to women who are potentially pregnant. It can cause miscarriages.

Sure, as evidenced by the wailing over the production stoppage and the weekly threads on the OT and Food and Drink Board about its return.

It's perfectly fine to like an inferior product that uses inferior ingredients of course. But it's a little sad to have an almost religious-like zeal about it.

So you think people are just going to shell out tons of money for the nostalgia? That is BS. There are quite a few flavors where Blue Bell is the cream of the crop, and in other flavors they're near the top. Hell, I'd argue that Blue Bell offers the best bang for your buck when compared to other national ice cream brands.
