They probably put that on their to avoid getting sued by the fatassess that break the chairs then break their wrist once they land.

Every time one of my SIL's come, I have to have her sit in one of the diner room chairs. Her fat arse is way over 300lbs. Patio chairs do have a rating weight of 300 lbs max tag on them.
