We are driving up on Thursday, July 11. Thinking about stopping at Fort Pickens for the practice run around 2pm after reading a reply on this thread. They haven’t announced a Belle Chasse date next year yet, so hoping to see them sooner than later.

Look up their website. Put that address in the GPS so as to not be routed to the main gate.

The show practice begins usually at 1130 behind the museum. Amazing place to watch and the museum is unbelievable.

We spent all day there and the kids didn't complain once they were hungry and the wife thoroughly enjoyed it.

That's a 5 star rating in Dad/Husband world.

If you play golf, call AC Reed one week in advance and get a tee time for 9:15. Show up two hours early, by the time you get to the 4th and 5th hole they’ll be flying on top of you.

That’s if it’s a practice day.

Are you talking about Fort Pickens or the National Aviation Museum?

If it’s you I’d just stay in Destin but you have two kids I’d definitely go.

Check out the new Blue Angels documentary on Amazon. It follows then for a year and has some of the best aviation footage I've ever seen. Badass documentary.

This isn’t a very good idea with a kid. The boat traffic will be awful. Very large boats with very drunk people operating them. If you get close enough to see, you will be surrounded quickly by other boats and when the obligatory thunderstorm shows up you will basically be at a bit better than idle speed to get away. Nobody believes me u til they try it.

You won't regret it at all. If you ever get the chance to stay in Pensacola and are there when they are practicing, they have meet/greets and signings at the Museum. Did that a few times. Years after I got out and was married to my ex, she was active and an officer - we lived next to a pilot on base.

That might be a 90 minute drive the day before but you'll be in for hell of a lot more traffic on that day. Better plan on about 3 hrs.

This is the best way to watch them in my opinion. They may have a practice run during the week. You can look up the practice schedule online. The practice run is the same as the show with a much smaller crowd.

Do everything you can to go...Don't miss the chance.

US Navy retired...I had the honor of working maintenance on the flight line at several shows back in the 1970's. First time I saw them was in the early 60's while my father was in the Navy...I was hooked from the very first time.

I never liked going to Blue Angel shows. Too many memories of my ears ringing for 2-3 days after leaving Casino Beach

Doesn't matter, they practice several days a week there. Used to watch them when I could when we were stationed there. Right behind the museum.

I know, I live in OBA. This week they're not practicing at NAS

OP is wanting to see the show

Did you know the Blue Angels were grounded during CV19 but not the Thunderbirds because the Thunderbirds never get closer than 6 feet from each other.

Lame joke but there is always a little truth in a joke.

Went to the practice show today. Got there around 1pm (paid for premium parking right next to public access on Casino Beach) and it was incredible. My boys loved it. I can’t believe it took me 38 years to finally see them.
