Their plant in Houston one of the few to refine heavy crude re Venezuela

So the politicians, including the Governor, pass a bunch of laws to hamstring refineries. They run to the media demonizing the oil & gas industry accusing them of price gouging California, despite all the taxes attached to gasoline sales in CA. Now after refineries start closing and companies leaving California, the politicians are talking about forking over tens to hundreds of millions of dollars to refiners stop the bleeding.
Almost like it was planned.

And what does uninsured motorist have to do with paying a refinery to stay open because democrats are dumb asses

Aren't they already in debt billions of dollars? Taxes in Cali are going to have to go up again. How can people not see that their taxes primarily pay for their state government's bad decision making?
When you’re on the tit your don’t worry about such things.

Well if the prices keep going up you are going to have more uninsured motorist to start.
It’s a legit expense month to month, you can’t avoid it. You can however skip out on insurance illegally.
The long term cost would outweigh the short term fix.
Ambulance chasers will have more fun in the future with all the cameras and such.

California news flash:
I can save you some money on this deal.
Drop all the weird California laws regarding refineries to where they would be on an equal footing like Louisiana or Texas, including California clean air standards.

He'll get 48% of the vote, just like Kamala.

The democrats could put a brain dead bucket and still get 48% of the vote.
See 2020 when the brain dead bucket actually won with a little help of ballot stuffing in swing states where Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters are registered to vote with little checks and balances.

A contractor showed up to a valero plant in an ev a few years ago. He was asked to leave the site and they stopped doing business with that company.
Valero was pretty steadfast during the COVID era about not doing business with companies that were pushing alternative energy….like it then and I like it now

Ok so if louisiana takes less in taxes from an oil company to incentivize the company to produce here, or the federal government gets a 10% revenue share from NVIDIA for producing in the states, it's bad. However, if California actively pays the company it's ok? Like, state propping up the company? State funding the company? Probably directing manufacturing quotas and decision making? Actual fascism?

quote:The vast majority of California politicians (and voters) have no idea how the economy is supposed to work in a Capitalism model.
Seems idiotic policy that was avoidable simply by not being typical economic illiterate CA politicians.
This is their general concept of what an economic should look like:
