Do say grace as a family before a meal at home? What about at a restaurant? Do you judge others who do (in public)? Do you say grace when alone?

We begin every meal in the Nitro household as follows:

quote:

Let us praise God. Oh Lord, oooh you are so big. So absolutely huge. Gosh, we’re all really impressed down here I can tell you. Forgive us, O Lord, for this dreadful toadying and barefaced flattery. But you are so strong and, well, just so super. Fantastic. Amen.

At Family Gathering. We hold hands and someone says Grace.

My Grandfather did this. One of the funniest things from when I was a kid was when he was saying the Blessing. He always said the same thing. This time he said something about "going to the mountain",and everyone looked up.

I about lost it.Couldn't quit laughing.

I'm an atheist now but was raised Catholic. My family has never done this though. However, my wife's family is very religious - to the point that her dad flipped out and broke her Poison records when he found she was hiding that "devil music". The last few years we've been having Thanksgiving dinner for the whole family at out house. Every time, her dad forces everyone to gather in a circle and hold hands while he "blesses the food". Lat year people got the jump on him and just starting fixing their plates and eating before he got the chance. Later he made comments about "not feeling right about not blessing the food," insinuating they may not be back to our house next time around. I don't understand why he can't bless his own damn food and not force everyone else to follow his beliefs. That's what irritates me the most about Christians.

We pray before every meal. I don't care where we are.

Got to tell God thank you for the food!
