With open carry being legal no cop has a legal means to insist on them being ID'd. LA also does NOT have a mandatory ID on your person at all times law. Innocent until proven guilty. It's up to the cops to find a reason to require an ID.

there is no good reason to bring weapons to a peace protest, maybe if you have fear that violence could happen, but you should conceal carry in that situation. I always like to point to the march for life, very little media coverage, but there have rarely been any crazy situations happen there. You have hundreds of thousands of people walking chanting and praying. This is nothing like the peaceful protests of the right, at-least the pro life demonstrations.
