I don't think he's suggesting all white people share a particular opinion.
I don't think it's a stretch to suggest that this is only going to lose viewers though. There will be a sizable number of casual views that will not support this decision and will not watch. It's not going to ruin the NBA, probably will barely make a dent. But it will be measurable. The NBA seems perfectly OK with that to show support for their players, so it is what it is.

In a city where half the population is black, why aren't there more black people than white in this random nba game crowd in New Orleans? And these are the cheaper seats. I'd bet money there isn't an nba game played where there's more black fans than white. There's nothing cheap about nba games or merchandise, and their money comes from advertisers and tv's 60 million subscribers, not kids playing basketball at the city park.

New Orleans was 60% in 2010. Probably higher now, but still lower than I would’ve guessed.
