If there's one league that this makes sense for it's the NBA. Let's be honest, the majority of the NBA fanbase is black.
The only white people who regularly attend NBA games are your rich white celebrity types (who are probably liberal and support BLM anyway) or the rich white corporate types who have a suite.
Unlike the NFL, MLB or NASCAR supporting BLM will probably help the NBA. The NBA hasn't cared about attracting the white middle class fan for a long time and would probably be okay if the white middle class fan went away forever.

Absolutely. It is pretty much a done deal at this point. NFL will proudly stand behind their players.

Sure a fair amount of white people will tune in for the playoffs (if their city is in it) and Finals but very few white people follow the NBA regular season or buy significant amounts of NBA merchandise.
The NBA understands that the majority of their fans will always be black and they cater to that. Unlike the NFL, MLB and NASCAR who are doing their best to alienate their core fanbases the NBA is doing what good businesses do and cater their core fanbase to keep it strong and possibly even grow it.
I actually grew up in a big basketball area and used to watch a fair amount of the NBA. I probably haven't watched the NBA regularly in 10 years and have no desire to watch again. Honestly sports in general are pretty much dead to me.

I know plenty of white people who love the NBA, but don't fit this criteria. They probably also aren't going to have any problem with #BlackLivesMatter on the court.
Regardless of race, this is only going to piss off a small percentage of NBA fans.

I don't remember who said it, but somebody mentioned how hard the NBA is working HARD to completely frick this up and alienate anyone who may have possibly considered tuning into this.
