Wait, you think it's a normal level of expectation to receive alcohol without ID?
for the most part, yes. I don't get carded 75% of the time and I'm 23.

usually a company hat has a strict ID policy has been burned in the past by serving to an under aged person, not uncommon to see, and like someone else asked, who goes out without their wallet, or at least a tasteful fanny pack or satchel?

Definitely rude on the employee's part. However, guest experience can be enhanced if they did read the menu. Hell, I'd be happy if I could get them to read the damn sign that says "emergency exit" in my restaurant.

Bizarre restaurant experience
I would have walked out when the cocky frick said that about the menu, but what sort of dude doesn't bring his wallet with him in public? Even if someone else is treating, you should always have your wallet on you.

Would you feel mad or disrespected if you were ID'ed?

That's the difference.

I'm far from a "millennial hipster" but if I had young kids with me listening to your trashy language I'd check you too.

If all that happened like you say, I would have poured my drink on the hipster and summoned the waiter over to watch. But I don't believe it happened like you say.

Sounds like the waiter sensed that you and your brother were cucks and proceeded to treat you as such.

No I had on a top hat and my brother had on his fedora.

No, just because we might not know how to shut our mouths doesn't mean we don't know proper attire inside a restaurant.

I am sorry this happened to you.

FWIW, I believe your story.

I also believe your complaints are just.

I wouldn't, I'm just saying it might be weird if op looks >30 and was carded.

I have a friend that owns a bar, and they card EVERYBODY. State law requires you to have ID on you if you're in a drinking establishment. She figures it's better to play it safe.

He left it at home because he didn't want his brother to back out on the offer.
