Even though the waiter shouldn't say that, that's exactly what needs to be said.

Regardless, I don't think any of this happened.

Bizarre restaurant experience by northshorebamaman
I've learned that these type of stories are rarely representative of the full story. And I'm not even saying you're necessarily lying but sometimes we don't perceive how we come across.

As a restaurant manager I can attest to how accurate this is. People are jerks for the littlest things when it comes to interacting with service industry.

The rude kid waiting on you has no business working in a restaurant. However, talking loud and using profanity in a public place with young children around is on you.

I'm still flabbergasted by a grown man not bringing his wallet. That's the part that is extremely bizarre.

Happens all the time. Luckily they don't usually do ID stings on men over 35. That being said, the kid is right and the law is against the business anytime they serve to someone without an id

I'm on your side. You should have bitch slapped all of them before leaving. Honestly I would have walked out after they didn't give me the drink. That's some petty shite

Yea you should walk out, and go get your wallet.

Unless the guy is in his 40s, I have no problem with the waiter asking for an ID.

Drink/ID is the OPs fault

Cursing loudly is by far the OPs fault

How the sides were handled sounds like the waiter was joking around and it was poorly received and probably likewise poorly presented by the OP because he already had a chip on his shoulder and was looking to be upset.

What kind of dumbass goes to as restaurant and asks "what are my options?" I get asking for a recommendation, but what the hell kind of question is that? He shouldn't have responded the way he did come back with a sick burn.

Also, what kind of idiot pisses off the waitstaff and then stays to eat food there? You are not too bright I take it?

Anyway, so my brother and i start visiting about our jobs, but we were talking kind of loud and were using a few choice words.
You are literally the worst type of person at a restaurant.

The worst.

I'll take a shitty server any day over loud mouth fools at a nearby table.

New Orleans is famous for good restaurants with good service. Got treated to dinner Thursday night at Commander's Palace (first time for me). Service and food were incredible.

Redfish on Bourbon is likewise an excellent place to eat.

One of my hosts said "if you want to find a good restaurant in NOLA, just check to see if it has been open six months."

I know, but I wasn't the one cursing, the only thing I did was get in an argument with the waiter about bringing the food back

And based on the story, the smart money is on him being in his 20s.

Not as concerned about the cursing, it's the loudness.

There is no bigger pet peeve of mine than the overtly loud table who is being loud just for the sake of being loud.

Yes you were in the wrong. Want to drink? Bring your ID. It's the law and waiters have to card you even if it's obvious you are of age, because you could very well be a secret shopper. That's 100% your fault.

Then you apparently began loudly cussing with a family with young kids nearby. I mean, idk how you could view it any differently.

Yes, you are.
