Damn, do you also think there’s a dark web site where someone can click “buy Oweo’s SSN now”?

lol.. No.. I really don't know enough to give an educated opinion. I only know what I have seen on some bullshite documentary, which only gives one side of the story.

I started discussing Bitcoin on this site back in 2012 when it was like $12. I was called every name in the book. Some of the self-proclaimed "financial experts" of the Money Talk board came after me non-stop. They said it was a Ponzi scheme, it was going to crash to $0, the government was going to shut it down, etc. etc.

I read every thread you made and/or posted in back then. I saw the value in it but thought the government would shut it down if it started taking off and I never read up on the technology so I never bought any, obviously that was a big mistake.

I did however make a few grand last year from Bitcoin and then Bitcoin cash by pure luck. Last August when BTC was $3500 I was going to buy something online that I needed to pay for using BTC and after I bought $500 worth of BTC I found out the site was shut down. So as I was waiting for it to come back online the bitcoin kept going up and up and up in value. The site never came back online and I sold when BTC was over $10,000 per which made my $500 into $1500. Then one afternoon I made a bunch of Bitcoin Cash trades and in less than an hour I made over $2500 profit and was in all cash. I pulled the cash out so I don't have any in there now but I was still thrilled with making $3500 profit on a $500 investment that wasn't even supposed to be an investment anyways!

Yet here we are, 6 years later...

i will literally never forget sitting in my dorm freshman year reading all your bitcoin posts and thinking "this could be awesome." my buddies always roast me for not making a bigger deal out of it.

if only I had taken all the money my parents gave me to go to Jai's tutoring and bought into BTC instead smh

I join you in regretting my hesitancy over the years.

Senior year after reading the threads I wanted to throw $1,000 into it. After researching how to buy and store bitcoin, and being tech dumb, I said it wasn't worth me not knowing WTF i was doing.

I am sad I had that mindset

Wiki, the feminine concern for nature counts as
Much as accountants bottom line. If we leave it all to capitalism we all lose.

John Carter of mars is the example you could relate to.

I think that would be the case if you were mining a coin but this is about transactions. A transaction would be just that, a transaction. So anytime you wanted to send some bitcoin, buy anything, move bitcoin from one account to another that would be the energy cost. I think....

That doesn’t sound accurate.

But I will defer to those more knowledgeable than I.
