That's odd, I didn't realize Hawaii was so close to the impact zone.

Well according to your map. Baton Rouge and st Francisville are safe. But for precautions, I'll head to Pensacola.

Those are horses, not bison. We're in the clear.

Bison have been running down roads in Yellowstone ever since they had...roads in Yellowstone.

Why even worry about it?
There is absolutely nothing we can do about it. If it erupts, we are all screwed, so don't worry about it.

I am interested in the time frame.. How long do super volcano explosions last? How long after the explosion until ash reaches Texas?

Depends on winds and environment. At the most 3 days

and we all remember how terrible the supervolcano of 1980 was.

They just figured out in the last 20 years that North America's prehistoric animals were killed by this thing and not some giant space rock. I really dont trust that they have this thing 100% figured out

So we would have some time, even if it's just a day or two, of complete and utter chaos under normal, ashless conditions.
That would be such a madhouse. People invading grocery stores with AR-15s and shotguns.. killing others over canned goods and water.

You've never lived until a bison disrupts your softball game in the park.

There really is no way to prepare in a few days for something that will last for years. The ash would cover the majority of the crops and livestock producing states. This will have long lasting effects. I believe it was 1816 when a volcano in Indonesia erupted and it caused it cause an entire summer on the eastern US coast to have winter weather and it was impossible to grow crops.
Fwiw Yellowstone would be like 50 times greater than this
quote:
eruption of the Tambora volcano on the island of Soembawa in Indonesia on April 15th 1815. The eruption lasted one week and rumbled for 3 months. The mountain elevation dropped from 14,000 feet to 9000 feet, killed close to 10,000 people on the island and another 80,000 people would eventually die from starvation and diseases related to the eruption. Tambora was one of the largest recorded eruptions with estimates of 1.7 million tons of dust put into the air equaling 6 million atomic bombs. The theory is that the dust reached the Northern Hemisphere during 1816 reducing solar output.
