I always get ads for this on Instagram. Never had it. May try now.
Beware of internet-purchased biltong.

Avoid this one (Stryve) at all costs; it’s terrible:

Avoid this brand (Amazon)

I've had good, yet inconsistent, results with Stryve.

My local supermarket sells a brand of biltong right next to the beef jerky, and it’s pretty good. Next time I see it I can edit my post to update the brand. Can’t think of it now. I imagine there are probably some really good brands accessible online, but I was not impressed with Stryve at all. Dry and tough with a just-okay flavor.

GF (now wife, sorry no pics) brought some back from South Africa years ago.

It was good, but sorry, it doesn’t beat TBoys boudin.

FYI, if you have Buccees near you, they sell Stryve. Don't make the mistake like I did, overpay and then see it the next day at Buccees.

What are some good brands? I’ve had Stryve and didn’t care for it.

Stryve is seriously addicting. I'd eat a bag in a day if I did not stop myself.

I liked this brand I found at Albertsons (Chef's Cut Biltong):

Anyone know where I can buy Biltong in the Baton Rouge area?

Tried Stryve biltong and it was terrible. Pretty much impossible to cut. Had a couple pieces that I worked up a sweat excising, then just threw the rest away. Pretty bad product.

I had been getting ads for biltong like crazy

Finally found some at fresh market

No joke it is far and away better than jerky. It is like what jerky should be.

Jerky is sugary and rubbery and has that weird sheen to it and I’ve honestly never cared for it. Feels rubbery to me.

Biktong honestly tastes like if you left prosciutto out in your kitchen for like half a day. A tiny bit of moisture but overall dry. Soft. Chewy but not rubbery. And just a nice smooth umami with a nice clean finish.

I finish a bag within like five minutes.

I love this stuff it’s amazing

I’ve had Chefs Cut before. They sell it in airport shops and I travel a lot. But my favorite is Kalahari - that’s the one they have at fresh market.

that's because 99% of the jerky you find at stores is from a caulking tube, I want to try this biltong, sounds interesting, but I can humbly say that I make the best real beef jerky you would ever put in your mouth and will put it up against this stuff before even trying it

No offense, but I've had really really good jerky. I just experienced biltong this weekend for the first time.
I'll eat both, but biltong is better.
