I bought a used ‘17 Lexus LS 460 with low miles in 2018 in the $50’s. Same model is now the LS 500 and sticker price is $115,000+. Bottles the mind how much vehicle prices keep increasing.

It's actually very simple. They keep extended the loan periods, so people who could never have afforded such vehicles at 60 month, 36 month, or even (gasp) cash, can now finance a 92k dollar truck over eight years and the note is affordable.
Eventually something has to give, because these things are going to need expensive maintenance in some cases long before they're paid off.
But here we are for now.

The price of vehicles and the amount of entry level cars produced having dropped something like 90% is wild.
I'll drive a old arse small car before I drop that much on any car.

I see these stupid looking rocky ridge Fords all the time. Logo looks like a butterfly

A coworker of mine got a good bit off sticker on a Sierra he just bought
Probably could get that vehicle for $85k or less

Generally I hate after market wheels and other crap.
Almost always this stuff looks cheap, will degrade in short order. They may as well put curb feelers, a chain steering and fur on the dash.

Well was it good? I can’t see a car salesman as a good rapper.

well that was fine and actually smart decision financially when interest rates were 1.9 or lower...but at 7% or whatever....retarded as shite
i was the biggest proponent on this board of doing the longest loan periods possible and always was pointing out how it was essentially free money at the rates they were at for years....now...you would have to be dumb AF to go buy for these crazy interest rates.

300 miles on it.
Sounds like some baw went out and bought a $100k new truck without telling his wife and she made him go trade it back in when she found out how much he paid and what that monthly note was going to be.

Or it was driven by the dealers owner (or family) for a weekend right before they slapped a ridiculous price on it.

These prices are quite jarring. My mind is bottled, too.

What do you like about them over Chevy/Ford. I went to look at a used 1500 at a Nissan dealership and they almost had me talked into a new Titan. I asked for a few things like leveling kit and new wheels/tires but it ended up being over 70k so I backed out

Kyle the Plant Worker wasnt getting those rates, and even if he was, he wasnt using the monthly savings to invest, he was buying a polaris and a boat with the difference. the end result was the same - lots of people buying trucks they traditionally couldnt have afforded, increasing demand, and jacking up the price.
but your point is valid. if you are financially stable, and can get a super low interest rate, then yes, it is much more viable.

No 10 speed.
No turbo.
No cylinder shut off.
Only 400 hp, yet a faster 0-60 than a 6.2 GM.
I tend to keep things to 225k or more miles. My last three vehicles have been on Nissan's Alpha platform. Other than things that I have damaged through stupidity, I've only had to replace a single sensor in 700k miles total driven.
I do hoses, belts, diffs, and plugs at 150k. I change fluids and filters every 10k for oil and 30k for trans.
The real reason though? I redline most gears. I jump the railroad tracks twice a day every day. The vq and vk motors don't mind revs and the factory suspensions are over built.
Newton Nissan was doing 51k for pro4x recently.
If you're dead set on doing suspension, bilstein 6100s in the front. All dogs offroad springs. Bilstein 5160s in the back.
I'm still factory bilsteins this time around.
