Bill Maher scolds liberal media for ‘scaring the s—t out of people’ over COVID

I rarely agree with this guy on much, but the facts speak for themselves.
Fear is a motivator. Fear is a divider. Fear gets you to tune in to the news. Fear gets you to turn on your own neighbor, friend, and relative. Fear gets you to lock yourself inside your home and become paranoid weirdos. Fear gets you to wear your mask driving down the road all by yourself. It’s FEAR that’s our “new normal” is it not?

HBO’s "Real Time" host Bill Maher blasted the liberal media on Wednesday for "scaring the s--t" out of people during the coronavirus pandemic and said they need to take responsibility for those afraid to leave their homes as a result of fearmongering coverage.
"I have to cite a survey that was in The New York Times, which is a liberal paper so they weren't looking for this answer," Maher said on ABC’s "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"
"The question was, ‘What do you think the chances are that you would have to go to the hospital if you got COVID?’ And Democrats thought that was way higher than Republicans," Maher continued in the clip flagged by NewsBusters. "The answer is between 1% and 5%."
Maher noted a whopping 41% of Democrats thought it was over 50%, while 28% thought it was 20-49% of COVID patients wind up in the hospital.
"70% of Democrats thought it was way, way, way higher than it really was," Maher said. "Liberal media has to take a little responsibility for that. For scaring the s--t out of people."

I respect him in that he shows you that just because you identify as a certain party, doesn't mean you have to agree with everything they say.

He’s been lying about being a democrat for a couple years and has everyone fooled into thinking he’s not a huge conservative. I’m convinced he turned a corner during the Trump era and is just terrified to admit it.

Nah, he is definitely still a democrat, and he doesn't really hide that. He's just always called out anyone anytime free speech is infringed upon. Kind of shows you how forgone some liberals are that even Maher is like WTF?

One of the better parts of what he said
He and I are close in age, and he couldn’t be more right. We didn’t talk about it for the most part, and actually didn’t really care either. Of course, that was before social media and 24 hour news either, or what they call news today. Back in those days you had 3 news channels, and although you could hear a slight lean to the left, it was pretty much the news of the day being reported. Today, it’s politics all day all night, and opinions. There’s very little in the simple act of reporting the news going on these days.

I like his show because he is usually fair and gives both sides a chance to speak

Here was his full interview on Kimmel and it's fricking sad, but also hilarious how afraid the crowd is to applaud literally anything he said.
