Biggest lesson thus far for the state---we need to decentralize electricity production

We need a 100 small plants in SE Louisiana rather than these foolish transmission lines from large power plants that run 50-100 miles through swamp and over Lake Ponchartrain and the Mississippi River.
Most all of the plants along the River produce their own power.
Deregulate power generation in Louisiana today!!! I want five or six choice of power companies like people have in Texas.

Our politicians need to stop focusing on COVID and start focusing on infrastructure. These gagglefricks we got now spent the last 20 months worrying about social distancing and masks and apparently spent no time on getting convoys of fuel trucks en-route, etc. I blame them 100% for this.
EBR avoided a major hit and it's an absolute shite show out there.

Underground utilities would negate this.

ERCOT will be much more effective in preventing what happened in Texas in the future than any group of fat cat politicians we elect as PSC members.

NG plants are very small.
Many of the generation plants used by companies along the river are 10MW and bigger. That would run a small town easily.
LSU produces it's own power.

It produces some. But it does produce all of the steam moved around campus that is used for heating and cooling.

You must have missed the disaster that was the Texas power grid during the ice storm. Along with people getting 8k dollar electric bills

Boom
Govt overregulation of utilities is the primary issue.

Decentralized electricity is the future, for sure.

Did you not see what happened in Texas over the winter? We do not want the Texas model.

Agreed
Demco is getting power back on left & right and Entergy is still "assessing".
