Got pulled over for making an "illegal left turn" at the light at Tchoupitoulas and Julia. It was a legal turn, I think he just wanted to see if I was drunk. Still writes the ticket, but he puts my dad's name as person receiving the ticket (I was 20, so insurance was under his name). Courts end up dropping it because it was a legal turn and because my dad and I don't have the same name.

Cop on West Parker pulls my friend over. He though it was for his expired brake tag, it was for me not having a seat belt on. I get a ticket and the cop didn't even recognize his brake tag. I know I was in the wrong, I just though all BRPD had an eagle eye for expired tags.

Should have told him to think of his daughter and stop arguing with random strangers over frivolous things.

It'd give him something to think about and we'd probably get to watch another guy get tazed. It's win/win

After the LSU-Georgia game in Athens in 2009, I got a "public disobedience" ticket for walking across the street when there wasn't a crosswalk. I lol'ed at the ticket and forgot about it.

4 years later when entering the country from a trip, I was detained by US customs in The Los Angeles airport. It was because I had a warrant due to the ticket. They called Athens County police to see if they wanted to "come get me" over the ticket. Yes, they were holding me in case someone from Georgia wanted to fly to california , get me, fly us back to Georgia and put me in jail over a ticket.

Thankfully, they weren't complete retards and realized it wasn't worth it and I was able to pay the ticket the next Monday over the phone. This was after getting shouted in the face by some dick LAPD cop, who thought I was lying to him about something. Fun times. Pay your tickets before you leave the country folks

This one actually makes sense. Cutting through a parking lot to just avoid a 30-60 second red light is a justified ticket in my opinion.

Mine was to continue on the service road.

Zero reason that they have a "do not enter" in the middle of the intersection on the service road crossing Monterrey, when it continues on past it. It just funnels people to that parking lot.

I talked with a LAST buddy of mine a few minutes ago and he agreed me with on the intersection being bullshite but said paying it would be easier than trying to fight it.

I use another parking lot almost every day to pull a U-turn because turning left onto the road from any of the business on the street is almost suicidal with that way it is set up.

I don't see the big deal with it.

I passed a cop on Airline w/ cruise set on 60mph in a 55. He must have gotten mad that I wasn't scared to pass him like 4 other cars so he wrote me a 66 in a 55 ticket.

Oh and a BS traffic light in the city ticket I couldn't fight.

Sounds they were as retarded as someone who received a summons and just ignored it?

Had a cop follow me for several miles one night. Wasn't speeding or anything but it kind of freaked me out so I decided to turn off onto a different road to see if he'd follow me. He did and soon after he started flashing his lights. After I pulled over, he got out of the car and walked up to tell me that he was going to issue me a ticket for a broken tail light. I asked if I could see it and as soon as I motioned for the door handle he put his hand on his gun and forcefully demanded I stay in the car. After he drove off, I got out of the car to look at the lights and yep...they were all working.

Happened to me as well. Total crap. I wasn't actually arrested though. They put me in a call and hours later said you good to leave. Didn't have a cell phone and they wouldn't let me use the phone to call a cab. Total bs

You certainly can make that choice. Just don't be surprised or upset if you get a ticket for breaking the law.

I got a ticket for a fake brake tag. I was like, "Wtf dude? How do you know it's fake, and how am I supposed to know it's fake?". He said the colors were off. They were the same exact colors as everyone else driving. I had been buying brake tags from this place my entire life and hadn't ever had someone tell me I had a fake. I still buy brake tags from there. The place exists to only sell brake tags.

Turns out it wasn't actually fake and it got dropped before trial. Prosecutor told me I was the seventh "fake brake tag" from that cop that day he had to dismiss

Nope. However, I've only had one speeding ticket in my life. I don't break the laws because the math says it's just not worth it in the long run.

I don't want to be bothered with a police stop for a ticket so I generally don't break the laws. I certainly have sped and haven't gotten caught but if I did, I wouldn't blame anyone but me.

Seems pretty straight forward.
