They upped the wind adv to 20-25 w/ gusts to 40.

They need to up the winds another 10mph for that to happen.
Only 20-25 right now. Will gust above 35 though.
They also mentioned this snow will be the northern powder kind. Whatever the hell that means.

What's interesting is that if all the long range forcast hold up for the rest of January the average high will be 55.8 degrees F for January 2018. That's 5.2 degrees below the average high of 61 degrees F for the month of January.
About the same for the average low of 40 degrees F. We are forecast to average 39 degrees F for the low in January 2018.
This is data is for Covington.
Also look at this (circled in red):
That is some cold July and August mornings right there.

but we it all stuck and the roads iced over and the fact that no onw has any snow removal equipment, every one was stuck.
You could’ve been a snow plow driver from Minnesota and had trouble with those road conditions. The streets were literally skating rink quality ice. Never seen anything like it.

There's no driving on straight up ice like that. Much less if you have the hills of Birmingham.

So is it going to snow in southern LA?

If we don't shut down our office in Homewood by 10am tomorrow I will be leaving regardless.

As to North Louisiana specifically, I think something being lost in all this hype is the fact that we don't get above freezing until Thursday. Usually we wake up to a snow and it's all melted by the end of the day.

Maybe. Yeah I know, not really an answer, but that's the best we got. Model runs have trended wetter for SELa, but they are still drying out for the most part as it comes over us. So I'd hedge that there will be a flurry or two with no accumulation at this time. Could be a surprise inch or two, with odds better the farther NW you go. Could dry up before it even gets to BR.

I knew it. I give up.

Once I got out of downtown I was able to go anywhere I wanted to. I am missing my excursion right about now. I should have drove it down here last night.

I am done with the unusual LA winter. Gimme back mid 90's with 1000% humidity.

work for a stubborn arse supervisor here in Shreveport. She's from Michigan so "don't wanna hear it"... what are the chances I wake up with a legit excuse to not be able to come in tomorrow?

NAM keeping the line through SEla for the first time. Following the global trend of more moisture in place.

I don't know. My 4 year old has never seen snow, so I'm rooting for it.
Seems like there was a chance, then they backed off, then today they are more bullish.
I saw one graphic that had the heaviest estimated totals(2-4") on a line from Carthage, TX to Shreveport to Eldorado, AR towards Memphis.

Shreveport?
You've got a winter storm watch/warning in place with a good 2" probable. In Shreveport, that's probably not advisable to drive through.
