Yeah it went up super fast, within a few months.

Okay, I take back what I said yesterday. BR is the only place I've ever witnessed that drivers come to a complete stop on a flashing yellow. I got strange looks for proceeding through it w/o stopping.

Just passed through there on Burbank for the first time. Person in front of me came to a complete stop

When everyone comes back for the fall semester it should be a complete nightmare.

From the OP article, it looks like the light will be removed second week in August. So it'll jus be stop signs on Boyd. That should be better than this. I think the blinking lights are a "transition" thing

UPDATE
They did it today. And, as expected, people fully tarded out. When I got to the light, Burbank was treating their yellow light like a stop sign, the people on boyd were completely ignoring the right turn only sign and blowing right through the intersection, and there was nobody to regulate anything. Those of us who actually followed the rules and turned right used the Mellow Mushroom parking lot to get back onto Boyd. And this is only summer
it's pretty comical.

Right turn only is a great idea.

Why would they do this?
Do traffic engineers actually evaluate the traffic patterns on these intersections before they pull shite like this?
They need to take that crappy apartment building and some of Circle K's parking lot and build turn lanes for Boyd and Burbank. They have to widen both roads to accomplish this.

They dumb
No really, they just effed E Boyd to improve Burbank traffic. Just completely ignored all potential repercussions. If it lasts, I will be shocked. Shocked I tell ya!

This is actually a really good idea. People trying to take left turns off E. Boyd backed traffic up almost all the way back to Highland sometimes. If cops can set up and ticket assholes who do anything besides turn right, it'll get traffic running smoother.
Posted on 7/8/14 at 7:29 pm to When in Rome
they need to have commercials or signs or something that tells all of the dumbasses that flashing yellow lights don't mean to stop.

There was an easy solution. Left turns illegal. Keep light.

You realize now this will force EVERYONE to get onto Parker if they are in the area just to get to Burbank or Nicholson? Parker backs up to the lakes during busy times every day of the school year.

If you need to take a left to head South, just use W. Parker, there's a turn signal. If you need to take a left to head North, just use Jennifer Jean, where there's a turn signal AND hardly any oncoming traffic.

They need to take the flashing yellow lights out completely. Too many stupid people don't know the difference between flashing yellow and flashing red lights plus since cars can only turn right from Boyd I don't really see the need for a flashing light.

quote:Yes, this would have been pretty good, but not as good as putting in a turning signal light.

The problem is that you have a large amount of students from residential areas coming from the south? trying to make their way to campus. They just eliminated a major artery that has to turn left to get to LSU.

If you need to take a left to head South, just use W. Parker, there's a turn signal. If you need to take a left to head North,
quote:Hardly any traffic because half of those people were using E Boyd. Traffic will at least double on Jennifer Jean now.

quote:That would've thrown timing off, especially since E. Boyd is only two lanes and has no room at all for expansion.
Which could have been fixed by a turning signal light.
quote:You can still use E.Boyd, but only for right turns. I realize W.Parker traffic will probably get ridiculous, they need to re-time that W.Parker/Burbank intersection

One just happened. Light is already changed, went to sonic, and watched someone run into the light pole at that intersection.
