you might be able to find something from right at the beginning when it was unclear what exactly was happening, but by summer 2020 I had flipped.

The Rivian headlamps are more lame and gay looking than the Guardian caps that cowardly NFL players wear over their helmets
They really are. The rest of the vehicle looks great but then they give them the soy face equivalent for headlights and ruin the entire front end.
As for OP, not sure how the feds loaning Rivian money to build a factory is "slapping Elon".
Tesla has been opening GigaFactory's all over the world and pretty sure the Model Y is the #1 EV, maybe the #1 overall car, in the world.
There is room for both.
And Rivian needs to fix those soy headlights.

Not sure how they pay it back
In past under Obama these green types of initiatives had zero or basically zero penalties for failure to pay back these loans.

Ohhhhh, you either voted for Harris or Trump with these idiots. They can't grasp how millions of people wouldn't and didn't vote for either.

Agree. They've been brainwashed into it's either one or the other.

Biden also declared a 28th amendment is law - The ERA. Georgetown law tweeter account congratulated one its professors for this and including professor also agreeing it’s should be law now.
Of course Kumala also pushed it as well.
Dems will later blame Trump for Biden and Kum’s lies, or worse some leftist Judge in California will start to enforce it and then have to go thru multiple appeals.
They are continuing to throw up road blocks to get in the way of the people’s vote.
Surprised they would want to falsely push a women’s rights amendment that specifically uses the term sex just like the women’s suffrage rights amendment also used the sex.

Approximately $2.8 billion….less than half of Rivian’s potential loan.
Odd, their securities filings indicate they've pocketed at least 9 billion in selling regulatory credits since 2018. Not sure how you can't count that as government subsidization, other than low earth orbit man good.

WASHINGTON, Aug 31 (Reuters) - The Biden administration is offering $12 billion in grants and loans for auto makers and suppliers to retrofit their plants to produce electric and other advanced vehicles, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said on Thursday.
Our automakers are damn near socialized right now.
