Federal gov should not have bailed out States that shut it down. Leads to more entitlement.

Yeah that's why I don't trust them to fix it.

I don't think fixing it is what they want to do. Bailing out isn't going to instantly lower the cost.

One day maybe policy makers will find a connection between subsides and higher cost. It must be so hard....

I agree, shut downs never should have been allowed to begin with, especially with non state and non federal employees. A mayor or governor should not be allowed to shutdown restaurants, or even limit them and other businesses. That can of worms is open so I guess it's a free for all now. Maybe the government can cancel my loan for my riding mower I'm about to buy for my landscaping business You know, since "things are more expensive now than they use to be"

This would make it make sense for people making slightly over 125k with big student loans to take a pay cut. Interesting.

If they realize a bailout isn't coming and they're paying for it, they will have a much different policy.

So the govt is going to give 10,000 to people earning twice the median income? Wtf?

Don’t worry, they’re hiring 80k+ new IRS agents to squeeze every dime out of those poor, unsuspecting bastards, as well as the rest of us. The middle class pays most of the bills in this country, no matter how any politician tries to spin it.

Now if Biden was going to cancel Ford F350 debt...

I think there are some professions that do deserve some form of student loan forgiveness.

Take for example veterinarians. They only make around 100k out of vet school but are forced to go into 300k debt for the degree.

Does this just apply to government loans and not private student loans?

And is there a household income threshold? What if a husband makes 175k and has 3 dependents including a stay at home wife?

And what about current students? Assuming they’ll get a 10k haircut?

So many questions.

They did this willingly as adults.

If you take a second to think about it it's pretty easy to figure out the answer to this

Some of you have no idea how taxes and various incentives work and it shows big time. You'd think people on this board would get how this works after they bitched for months when trump gave most people checks a couple years ago.

I mean we need that profession in society so I am glad they willingly did it. Their salary to debt ratio is not what I would consider equitable though.

The ones who are having their debt forgiven also did this willingly as adults.
