Yessss!!!
Just remember, it’s a tough book to go it alone.
If your pastor is overtly asking for money or is still holding congregational meetings, don’t trust his interpretative helps.
But there are many resources out there to aid your own common sense as you approach the text.

If what I’ve just done angers you, we need to talk. Seriously. I’m currently in a seminary course that requires a discussion with either a non believer or a Christian who’s struggling with their faith or starting to feel overcome by skepticism.
Please email me at bayoubengals1988@gmail.com if you’d like to help me fulfill my assignment. It will simply consist of our email exchanges. I don’t need to know your name. I will reformat our discussion and turn it in once we reach an impasse or God willing, a break through.
P.S. If you’re Catholic, I’d love to talk to you, but not for the assignment. Though you obviously disagree with the links I’ve posted because you think the Magisterium knows all, you still believe that Christ is Lord and that makes you a Christian in the same way that I am.

I was gonna talk about if anyone still needs toilet paper, but I'll lay off religion this morning.

I'm a born and raised Southern Baptist, but I've had the priviledge of meeting some Catholic monks recently, and those are some righteous dudes.

But we need not go there

religion and fear are best friends
nobody should be surprised that Bible sales rise when public fear increases

Coincides with the TP shortage. Coincidence?

I somewhat disagree with this. Some things will take time and more studying and cross referencing to Old Testament scriptures for it to make sense, others will take understanding Jewish traditions, history, and the like to put into context, but the overwhelming vast majority is brought to light when you read it in faith first, and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. You cannot read the Bible purely trying to intellectualize it. It is a spiritual handbook for believers, and so you must have a mustard seed of faith and pray for it to be opened up to you.

And you somewhat agree.
Essentially, the OT is pretty tough. It’s ancient and Hebrew.
The New Testament is fairly plain to interpret, and when believers disagree about NT teachings they tend to be peripheral issues.
But yes, you are correct, we are “God taught.”

It’s because Trump has a financial stake in Bible sales and his fear-mongering is pushing people to Jesus (for his own gain)
