I remember correctly, this case went beyond just “cheating”. Her ex was a wealthy and powerful plaintiff’s attorney who used his money and legal connections to neuter her chances at a fair and reasonable settlement. He didn’t just cheat and leave; he dragged her through the courts for years.
That’s what the wiki said… I could understand someone losing their shite after that, on top of what else I read in the wiki.
It’s not that I think cheaters deserve the worst- but when you break faith with someone it isn’t always going to go in your favor.

you saying he should have not fought for a fair settlement for himself?
Perhaps you know more about this than I do, but my point is that he went well beyond fighting for a “fair settlement”. After a quick glance on the web, he instigated legal battles for years after the divorce was settled. That’s enough to drive a crazy woman over the edge.

He was paying $16000 a month in alimony and had bought her an expensive house as part of the divorce settlement. She literally dumped the kids on him (as in drove to his home and dropped them off without warning) as revenge, and then was mad that he wanted custody. She ran her car into his house and got a slap on the wrist.
Did he drive her insane or did he leave because she was insane? I personally think it was the latter. He was a cheater and probably a scumbag, but he was still better than her.

Pretty big news story in 1990, 1991.
Not as big as the Menendez brothers though.

She got a very nice settlement. She wanted him and his new bride to suffer. She acted nuts to their kids. I take the father's side in this one.

Eh, sex with the same person all the time is boring.
I'm not a big a supporter of monogamy. But, to each their own.

That's fine so long as your partners feel the same, I guess.
That does explain why you seemed ro be particularly offended by my commentary.

He wasn't looking for a fair and equitable settlement if memory serves he was looking to get away with the minimal he could get away with.
There was a better more in depth show on Netflix some years beck with Christian Slater. Broderick was half crazy, she felt like she had sacrificed and put him through not only med school but law school and he was going to just throw her away.

No. I just happen to believe murder is a thousand times worse than "cheating" on someone.

Both are prohibited by the Ten Commandments.

Dan Broderick went to med school and law school?

You're really equating murder and cheating?
You'd like adulterers stoned to death? I guess you've been cheated on.

one of my fraternity brothers is a neurosurgeon, he was so disgusted with the way the legal system was working when he was going through a divorce that he decided to go to law school, paid out pretty hugely in the long run

there's about a million mile gap between "not going in your favor" and "shot to death while sleeping"

That show left out a lot of Betty's craziness and wasn't fully accurate. And she didn't put him through med and law school. His family paid for med school and he and Betty married after he graduated. He did go to law school after they were married.
Dan was likely not a good human, but Betty wasn't an innocent victim. She is the definition of someone with a personality disorder. She was getting paid a lot of money each month in alimony, had a paid off home, and had a boyfriend. And she still was so bitter that she murdered him! She was also extremely abusive to their kids.

If you believe that the Bible is true, then
quote:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
is the greatest commandment.
Matthew 22:37 - 38
So, not loving the god of the Bible is actually worse than either murder or cheating on your spouse.

Who is the judge of how much you love God?

God, I assume. Who else can read your mind, other than one of those alien beings I was reading about in the UFO thread?
