The reason why people starting using razors like Gillette was to avoid the unsafeNess of the safety razor.
Do a web search on Gillette razors and you will find they have been in business for over 120 years making, ummmmm, safety razors and such. Many soldiers shaved through World War II with Gillette Speed razors.
Not that I am in any way a supporter of Gillette currently.
As I stated in other threads, Harry's now appearing in Wal Mart stores tells me that they have cut costs on their products and the quality will begin to suffer. That is what usually happens when a company deals with Wal Mart.
Dollar Shave Club products are made by Dorco, they make a DE blade that is one of my own favorites.

Are you a weak man without the ability to decide for yourself? Oh no I shaved with Gillette and grew breasts and my balls fell off!

Anything but Gilette. See, I like raping women and pummeling nerds, so Gilette is just not for me.

Bulldog razors ate the best I've used.

Can’t say which is better because I’ve only used Harry’s.
But I have no complaints. I have a really fast, full growing beard.
They’re inexpensive and I don’t have to go ever buy razors or shaving soap from the store.

Have used both and I thought Harry's had the better blades. I do however prefer the shaving cream from DSC. I use one every 2-3 weeks and that's shaving 5-6 times a week.

It's funny because Harry's came out with an ad a year ago that's way worse than the gillete ad.

I like DSC shave cream and other products but my razor is the Schick Hydro 5 great razor and I get quite a few shaves out of each blade

I tried Harry’s. The blades were terrible compared to my Gillette fusion. It’s not even close.
And don’t even think about using the single blade trimmer. Feels like tweezing

Hands down ... Harry’s. I never run out with a subscription. Bargain at twice the price.

The wife bought me an electric razor and I am hooked. I had never used one and I was afraid it wouldn't work. Not sure if it will have been a wise investment but it does make shaving suck a little less.

I keep a beard these days, but for clean up I've been happy with the Barbasol 2 blades from the DollarTree
