The only music worth a shite in the 90's was country. That gave you Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Mark Chestnut, Tracy Lawrence, Tim McGraw, Garth, Joe Diffie and on and on.
Plus you had Martina Mcbride, Faith Hill, Reba, Patty Loveless , Trisha Yearwood, Lee Ann Womack, Deana Carter, Chely Wright, amongst others.
The 90's was country music's peak.

80s were the perfect decade. Last decade before technology took over.
90s were a close second
90s were a close second

80's had better music and movies. And gratuitous nudity

Easy, 80s. The only stain on the 80s are AIDS and the war on drugs.

The 80's were the party and the 90's were the hangover

90's... this is not close.
Grunge
gangster rap
best years for low cut shorts
booming economy
internet
80's had some good music thats it, but even that wasnt better than 90's. and While Ronald Reagan was our best president, not everyone loved him during the 80s'. His policies helped boom the 90's though.

80's, easily. The 90's was when degeneracy, racial conflict and political correctness took off under Clinton. The music was mostly angst-filled, depressing or angry, everyone started getting all tatted up, and the movies became more degenerate to the extreme than ever before.
Not everything was perfect in the 80's, and we were still on a downward trajectory with demographic replacement, but the 90's was when our very culture chewed itself to pieces. Art, especially music, has been a joke since then.

1982 is so different from 1988. Same with comparing 1990 to 1998. It’s too big of a spectrum. IMO 1985 to 1995 was peak greatness, but it might depend on where you were in life.
Fair enough... I'll give you that

Having lived through both, I find myself reminiscing about the 80s WAY more.

imo the 90s were just a more refined 80s with better economy for the most part. Both great decades but also very very violent decades and the cities were pretty terrible for the most part. Wasnt until late 90s and early 2000s that the cities started really getting cleaned up and violence way down
9/11 is pretty much what changed everything. Gave birth to gov over reach, made the country feel very vulnerable, gave birth to 24 hour news...the internet was ramping up, cell phones becoming more and more popular etc
but life remained fairly unchanged until 9/11
both have pro and cons. Im more partial to 90s as i was born in 82. very very similar decades. I think 90s was more commercialized but also because of MTV had some amazing things like spring break, woodstock 99 etc.
they both had the per 9/11 freedom but 80s always had the threat of nuclear war with the soviets hanging over.
i guess i could sum it up like this...80s gave birth to the hope for more freedom, better economy, fall of the soviet union....the 90s was the realization of that.
