Wife and I live in Pineville

my father was in the air force so I lived in 9 different cities, 7 different states, 2 countries before graduating from Pineville HS. I moved to Pineville from Las Vegas, NV. Lived in Indian Hills.

I guess I can understand how someone not from Cenla would rag on it. But I would move back to Pineville in a minute if the opportunity arose.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed every minute as a student at LSU. But when I graduated, I couldn't get out of BR fast enough. I'm not really knocking BR. It just isn't for me.

-Robbie G's
-Camp Livingston (Hunting)
-Two hours away from any major town in state other than New Orleans. Easy to get to entertainment venues.
-We're not having quite the murder problems that Baton Rouge is having.
-90 Minutes from Toledo Bend.
-Good place to raise family.
-Good place to retire.
-Good place to maintain low profile if you're working high profile in other towns.
-We have an accredited zoo.
-We have a ballet company.
-We have an area symphony.
-We have a museum.
-Actually, with the Hotel Bentley coming back up, things are slowly building back up around it.
-Once the Louisiana Community and Technical College re-locates downtown, it will spur additional business growth.
-Cost of living is reasonable.
-No, it's not a major metropolis, but it is an ok small town.

I get it, rebel. I think about the fact that my child will be a "Baton Rouge kid" and it weirds me out. I grew up building forts in the woods and riding bikes until 7-8 pm every night. My child won't have the cool adventures I did as a child growing up in Pineville. For all of its faults, I miss it and wish my baby had the chance to be more country.

the first time I went back after they got rid of the north circle, I had to call somebody after going over the OK Allen Bridge to find out how to get back to McArthur.

went back last year for HS reunion and the Saturday I was there, they blew up the OK Allen.

Have you ever had quebedeaux's? It's not like Billy's has the damn secret recipe to boudin. Quebedeaux's is just as good as I have had it myself. are you related to billy? Did you get butt hurt by the truth?

Did you ever tell DK how you knew me? He wore me out asking Saturday night at whatever place we went to.

Hah no, I never told him. My crazy toddler was being too demandy for me to have a real adult conversation, anyway. He probably thought it was unkosher considering how old you are compared to me.

And I wanted to see it blown up in person but was too hung over. Plus I had to get to bistro on bayou to set up for the party that night.

i've had both…several times. had billy's many more times tho. i rarely go thru krotz springs without stopping there. frankly i wouldn't drive across the road for quebedeaux's boudin balls.

Alex doesn't have what i would call a real good BBQ joint. Nor a real good mexican joint. I don't get real excited about any restaurants around here except for Sake Sushi which the health inspector just shut down this week.

ETA..There is a superb restaurant just north of Alex in Boyce called Jahohn's.
