When you get to whatever studio you choose make sure you look at their portfolios and if they don't have pictures of lettering ask to see some. Lettering especially script is not an easy thing to get right. Do your due diligence, don't just sit in some guys chair and let him start tattooing you. If they are good artists they won't mind some questions and won't mind showing you their work, just be nice about asking.

Appreciate the tip brotha
The scripting is the exact reason I brought it to the OT. I've seen some horrible script tats around town and if I'm going to do it, I want nothing short of professional work. Good man, thanks.

Go see Michael Williams at High Resolution. He's the best, plus he's an awesome person.

also remember the simpler the script the more readable it'll be and it will hold up better over time. When you look at the pictures look for clean solid lines, find some long lines and see how straight and consistent they are, make sure there are no little dots in the lines. If you see clean work you should be ok, remember good work generally isn't cheap.

Body Images did my first one. They were great. My others were done at various places in CA. Cant say ive been disappointed anywhere yet. Just make sure yiu go in and look at their art. If it's what you like then you are probably good. Just make sure that you absolutely love the proof that they draw up for you first. Dont be afraid to say "try again". They won't get their feelings hurt.

Trust me one of the only reasons I havent already had it done is because I have a huge fear of smudge work. Shittiness within the Tattoo would kill the whole thing for me. So I'm definitely down to pay top dollar then cheap out. Good tips from good people's.

Only the frickers with sleeves and shite on their legs is trashy. A few script sentences on my back commemorating my faith, family, and my 3 grandparent passing in 3 months time is not.

While I would never get a tattoo myself, I would think people with sleeves of beautiful art are much less trashy than people who tattoo a bunch of shite about Jesus and mommy and grandpappy on themselves.

Funny thing about Jesus tattoos is the bible is very specific about not getting tattoos.

Leviticus 19:28
quote:

You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the LORD.

Yeah that passage is somewhere around the ones that forbid pork, shellfish, and how to treat your slaves.

Dody in Gonzales; there's a good one in Ponchatoula that did my brother's fire fighter tat that came out great.

As for people with tats being trashy... how about you live your life and let other people live theirs!! But what do i know, I'm just tattooed and nicely employed! It's a free country!
