a while back that Jeremy Davenport lived there too. That true?
He was living in a suite at the Ritz when I worked there in college. I assume he still does.

I know it is not an option, but if you are looking to traverse the French Quarter I would go with the Royal Sonesta. They just completed an entire hotel rennovation and it is nicer than it was before. You can't beat the location, either. If you want a hotel in the Quarter not as loud as the Sonesta and not directly on Bourbon, check out the Hotel Monteleone and their Carousel Bar on Royal Street. Two blocks off Canal and one block off Bourbon.

How are the rooms and service? I've visited the restaurant and the rooftop bar. Pretty damn cool place.
No idea. I live right down the street and have been to the bar a few times. Brand new so I assume it's decent.

amazing that the former owner of the Ritz has a nice huge suite on the top floor that takes up a quarter of the top floor. Very interesting suite indead. The bathroom was all mirrored and there is a six foot tall ostrich in the living room.
Makes the sex so much more interesting

The Ritz is not in the CBD. Windsor Court would be a great choice along with Loew's Hotel.

I've stayed at the Windsor Court many many times. I love it. I was there a few weeks ago for 3 nights. They have a summer special running right now, too. Lower rates, an upgrade, I believe and a $50 a day credit. I already had reservations when I saw the special, so I called and they changed my rates. Reduced the stay by over $60 a night plus the $50 a day. I got the same special in late March when they had a Winter special running.
I've only stayed in suites, though. I've never stayed in a regular room, though I'm told those are very nice as well.
The $19.84 lunch is delicious and one of the best deals in town served Mon through Saturday.

Rooms are tiney there and overall it's not on same level as the Ritz and Windsor

What is the Club level at the Ritz? Is it worth the upgrade?
Posted on 6/22/16 at 1:52 pm to BayouRat15
I believe he was talking about he club level at the WC. I've never stayed on the club level, but I understand it's very nice and there is a bar there with cocktail hour and there may be breakfast. I'm not sure. I think it could be open all day. The website should describe that area and the amenities. I don't think those rooms have balconies and I like to have a balcony, so I stay in the suites.

This. Yeah at the WC the free breakfast is great and the appetizers with open bar(premium liquer) is the tits.
I've never stayed at the club level of the Ritz but I do hear it's nice.

Hotel Monteleone
Is excellent, but stay in a suite.
It has a great ambience and the location is the best.

Loews
I've stayed at the Loews and liked it. Large, spacious rooms with a good location.
There's also the Hilton on St. Charles which isn't a bad hotel...but there are probably better options.

Stay in the Drury. It's easily as nice as the other hotels. It's closer to the dome and you can park your own car.
Yeah, yeah, yeah I know your favorite is "better". I've stayed in all of them at some point. I'll take the Drury every time.

Is that the one at the corner of Carondelet and Poydras?
