This is definitely towards the bottom of problems, but what would the general consensus on this be? Any reports out yet?

They posted this 20 mins ago on their Facebook

#HurricaneIda Update: MSY is currently conducting a thorough damage assessment. We expect all flights to be cancelled today, but recommend that passengers check directly with their airlines for the most accurate flight info. More details to be provided when they become available.

Any chance those Thursday morning flights to LA will run?

There is a lady on that facebook page who is apparently affiliated with Southwest and she said they're planning to resume flights at 2pm today (Monday) - but to contact the airline directly. Then people saying the wait time for the airline phone number is 9 hours.

Have family flying in via Southwest to Nashville on Wednesday so I'm hoping they'll be good.

The airport should be up and running by Thursday. The surrounding infrastructure will be the problem

Define surrounding infrastructure? If you are talking tourism, I get it. I'm looking for an outbound flight.

MSY might be down for a few days. They got a lot more wind than New Orleans proper.

BTR is closed but they are expected to reopen this LATE evening possibly. More likely Tuesday if you need to fly in or out.

Plane in route to BTR now. Delta has a 4:00 arrival on the schedule today that is showing as operating.

I've been trying to convince everyone on the travel board to rebook to nearby cities and to do so now instead of sitting and waiting. Is I-10 even open near there? Does Nola have power? How are the airport workers going to get to the airport?

I have a 6pm flight out of MSY Friday. I imagine It will be open.

No data to provide. Just a hunch.

I flew in Thursday and was supposed to fly out tomorrow from MSY. Switched my flight back to AZ and now going back out of Houston. My thought was it’s going to be hard to get to the airport from Lake Charles so easier to go West.

All of those stranded still in the terminal? That could get ugly. No AC, no water, no sewerage, no vittles.

Glad you have faith because I do not . My recommendation is for rebooking into BTR or further west (LFT, LCH, AEX, or all the way into TX with Dallas/Houston)

Any chance you think Spirit will respectfully handle early am Thursday flights?

As much as they are known for customer service, I'm sure they will upgrade everyone and serve caviar
