I had a black lab mix that was a drop off in the country as a puppy. He lived to be 7 before getting hit by a car.

He was the most loyal, obedient, and loving dog I’ve owned. He loved everyone. When the UPS and FedEx drivers would get out he’d walk up to them and they’d pet his head. He really loved kids whom he’d let lay all over him.

He is the reason I got another rescue puppy.

Golden Retriever. Period, the hair is mind boggling. But you have to over look it.

Due to their intelligence and nature!

Funny. Seen multiple responses for wiener dogs and multiple for border collie. My best dog is a wiener dog and border collie mix. Sweet, smart, and loves to go fishing, hunting, and running. Shedding is prodigious, but well worth it.

German Shepherd named Sarah. Shes been gone 14 years and I still miss her every day.

They are elite among animals, brilliant, loyal, brave, protective, and playful. The Swiss army knife of canines. If you have children, there is no better pet to raise them with than a GSD. They have a very high social intelligence and see your kids as family.

They bond with humans stronger than most people, adapting, and learning your behavior and emotions.

They are the superheroes of the animal world. If you're fairly active and like having a buddy with you 247, these guys are perfect.

Generally considered dogkind's finest all-purpose worker, the German Shepherd Dog is a large, agile, muscular dog of noble character and high intelligence. Loyal, confident, courageous, and steady

Get a golden retriever if you want a big dog and a poodle if you want a small dog

Can’t go wrong with that

For an inside dog, certainly get something that doesn't shed. Also, if the dog will stay inside, a smaller dog is certainly what you want. Miniature schnauzer, poodle, small doodle (we have one that was the runt of the litter, she is under 20 lbs at one year old), etc.

Lab + German Shepherd. She's awesome. Chill but playful when you encourage her to play. Smart as can be. Lab friendly and German Shepherd smart is the best combo.

Collie. He helped me round up escaped cattle at 1am by the light of the moon. Also saved my mom from being gored by a longhorn.

Mutt. Half rotweiller and half black lab. Best attributes of both breeds

Parents had the first Jack Russell in Texas. This was back when no one knew what a Jack Russell was. They were originally dogs affixed to a foxhunt together the fox out of its den.

Ours was flown in from England. Picked Mac up at DFW airport. Let him out of his cage and he immediately went after a Chow. He was a fearless dog.

The early Jack Russell terriers were better dogs.

Irish Setter. He was even tempered and full of character. The grandson could climb on him, pull his tail and ears and when the dog had enough he would move. Never snapped or growled.

I got a rescue that they say is a giant schnauzer/poodle mix. The breed "schnoodle" I guess. So far over last 6 months he's been best dog I've ever had. Dosent shed much, super loyal and friendly, and smart. Good for city living he's 2.5yrs old. Can get by energy wise with two 0.5 to 0.75mile walks a day, or just playing in the yard.

Not sure you can answer that if you have owned multiple dogs your whole life. I have had about 10 thru out my life and have loved every one. Cant really say one was better than the other. They have all been loyal loving to me and my family. Have had a dog all my life minus my military years and will probably own one on the day that i die. Then hoping to see then all again on the other side.

My dog now. I love her more than is probably healthy. That said…. She’s an extreme amount of work and I honestly don’t trust her to behave the way she should so that causes a lot of anxiety. But she loves people and wants to share her love with everyone. The amount of love she wants to share is heartbreaking
