9 Dragon Noodle House gets my vote, followed closely by Omi.
Unless you're looking for that Americanized carry-out crap. In that case, they're pretty much all the same.

Omi is right behind Five Happiness as far as best Chinese food I have eaten

BR has lacked in good Chinese since MK Wong owned Chinese Inn circa 1970s-1994ish, and the family that had Royal Hawaiian.
Omi has been sold, it now can be hit & miss, but the Garlic Sauce Eggplant, Chong Xi Chicken, Ants Climbing Trees, Cumin Spicy Pork,etc..delivers.
Dim Sum sans the basics of Shu Mai, Har Gow,etc..can get funky and foul..and/or pedestrian bland.
Hunan, Oriental Pearl(Sherwood only), Nine Dragon, PF Chang's, all vary wildly in grade dish by dish...
Jenny & Sau Yeung of Hong Kong/China Bear do a solid Smoked Duck Eggroll.
Some of the BR Thai joints like Thai Chili, Thai Pepper, or Thai Kitchen have chefs that often do better Chinese Twice Fried Rice, and other Chinese dishes, than 97 % of BR Chinese joints..
For a city of 650K greater metro..BR is a Chinese dining wasteland...ask most any Chinese person you know..they'll say the same.

9 Dragon Noodle House
The roast duck or roast pork ramen noodle bowl FTW.

China Bear by Mathernes on Perkins/Bluebonnet is my go-to chinese takeout spot. General Tso combo---extra spicy

9 Dragon has some legit authentic dishes: dry chili beef, stewed pork belly with salted veg., crab w/ ginger & scallion, sautéed pig liver, etc

Baton Rouge, even greater, isn't even close to 650k. Omi is the dirtiest place I've been too. But you are correct, no good Chinese here.

Pearl on Sherwood!!!! Trey Yuen is probably the best within a short drive from BR. Otherwise go to California...

All those saying Omi really should try Nine Dragon Noodle House at Highland and Lee. Omi can be hit or miss but is usually very good. Nine Dragon is consistently great.
