Hello! I know this is going to come out of nowhere, but a few years ago you made a comment about the restaurant Royal Hawaii in Esplanade Mall. My father owned that restaurant. He passed away in 1993 and that's why we ended up closing. I have no idea why but the idea to Google the restaurant popped in my head just now, and your post showed up! I wanted to tell you that it made me smile that you would remember the restaurant from so long ago. Thank you for remembering the good food and especially the mai tais :)

Well, thank you and your family for such solid fare at Esplanade and Jefferson Hwy incarnations, and for also helping a legion of 1980s CHS, SJA, & UHigh kids using their fake Bourbon St IDs partake of the delicious Mai Tais.
And a shout-out to all 1980s Country Corner clerks too..much love for all the Mickeys, Schaefer, and Strohs!
