Wayne didn't graduate. He lost his FB scholarship after he was injured and had to drop out

He played on the same team as this guy, later the star of Wagon Train:

Of course, with the way the language is distorted and perverted more and more each day, the "only have to have attended" meaning will soon take over completely.

i don't disagree that it gets ridiculous, but wayne was on scholarship for a time and played for the Trojans. not like he just enrolled and flunked out after a semester or two.

Harvard disagrees. Harvard Alumni Association

Bro. Ray also disagrees. When we asked him what the "privileges" referred to by our diplomas were, he told us that one of them was the right to join St. Paul's Alumni Association.

I think most dictionaries would agree with you. You're not wrong. I just think English language dictionaries are shite.

Google gives two contradictory meanings in the same paragraph:
quote:

Do you have to graduate to be an alumni?
You must have graduated to be called an alumnus, plural form alumni. For women, the term is alumna, plural form alumnae. The term alumnus/alumna refers to anyone who attended a particular university (Merriam-Webster definition).

Curious, where did you attend HS ? Your seem like a scholar that would have attended Ben Franklin. I graduated from St. Martin’s Episcopal. I sometimes do work at Christus St. Patrick Hospital located on Dr. Michael DeBakey Drive in Lake Charles
