I was there 2 weeks ago. Same hotel. Flew in to Newark and had a car service waiting to get to the hotel. ABout 35 minutes from Newark. LGA seems closer, from past experiences.
If the flights are the same, I'd do LGA.
The hotel is going through a lot of renovations, but the rooms are huge by NY standards. Check-In and Lobby is on the 3rd floor.

LGA and just take a taxi. Why pay $20 for a car service? Cooler car?
Taxi from Newark would be a lot more than from LGA, and public transit is a bitch if you have luggage.
$40 and 20 minutes from LGA to Times Sqaure.

$125 flat rate + tolls for UberSUV
That's more than what it cost to fly to Newark from MSY

It does not matter...whatever is cheaper to fly into

My last taxi from midtown to LGA was $47 after tip and it involved me having to keep the window down for some breeze in the 95 degree heat and the cab drivers stench.
Got a car for my wife from LGA to midtown for $55 including tip and that gave her a climate controlled towncar with a driver that met her curbside and had water/soft drinks available.

Best thing about LGA, in my opinion..

A few years ago my wife and I took our first trip to NYC. We flew into LGA and used Dial 7 to transfer between airport/hotel. We have no complaints, the cars were waiting for us on time, the driver was courteous, and we had climate control. Also, since it is a flat rate service, they aren't going to frick around and take the "long way."
We are going back to NYC next month, but this time flying into Newark due to cheaper flight/no connections. We have Dial 7 scheduled for airport pickup, but are going to wait and see about transfer from hotel to airport for departure. I have read many reviews about the NJ Transit train directly from EWR to Penn Station, and we just want to see how much time/hassle would be saved. We leave the city around 3:00 on a Tuesday afternoon to depart at 6:30 pm, so I am worried about traffic getting out of Manhattan if we use a car service. The train runs on time and traffic doesn't matter so it helps for time management.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, you should not have a problem with traffic at this time.

Thanks again everyone.
It looks like cab from Laguardia will be the route taken.
Looking forward to the trip, we will be there from June 6-10.
Really the best answer. in june its going to be hot and you dont want to be walking 10 blocks with luggage. Trust me.
Just hop in the cab line outside the airport and you will be good to go

FYI, NJ transit will drop you off at the AirRail station. You then have to take the AirTran to your terminal. Just factor in an additional 10-15 minutes if you go this route.

Download the Uber app. You should be able to find a coupon for something like $10 or $20 off of your first ride.
Uber is awesome. You can even use it to call for a cab. But their UberX cars are always nice and only marginally more expensive than a regular taxi. No tips necessary (built into price).
When it rains in the city it can be very hard to get a taxi. When it's between 7:15-9:15am or 4:30-6:30pm on a weekday, same thing. Having the Uber app can ENSURE you'll get a taxi instead of just risking it. Nothing's more frustrating than seeing someone walk up to a corner a block ahead of you and scoring the first empty cab that's come along in 10 minutes.

Meh, I guess the potential for a better experience is there. But the price increase is guaranteed. I took a car service from Brooklyn to Manhattan because taxis were scarce, and it was basically a cab with an American driver. And $50 when the cab there was $32.

I did liberty in Newark and LeGuardia. The later was more convenient.
