It's hit or miss on terminals at LGA. One of them has absolutely nothing, one has free iPads at every seat with apps for ordering food/beer.

I really appreciate all of your responses.

I have a combo breaker, we just logged into the course webpage (Barkley and Associates), and it seems that they have switched the venue to the ONE UN hotel in East Manhattan, now Im mind fricked.

Whoever said to walk from Penn Station to Times Square is frickin nutso.

What? It's 8 blocks on the same avenue. Less than half a mile. Unless he's lugging a huge suitcase it's a very easy walk and probably quicker than waiting for a train.

You can walk the 1/2 block to 7th, take the 1 and hop off at the 50th St. station and be 3 blocks away and at the hotel in under 10. Walking it will take 20 minutes or so depending on waiting for crosswalk lights.

I'd uber it and pay the money for door to door service.

I'd just do lga and cab it. Just know the cross streets for your hotel and tell the driver manhattan 1st and 80 st or whatever it is. Subway/bus is a pain for lga

What year do you two dumbasses live in? Let me guess, you'll be the first people in your family to go "up north" since Gettysburg.

Although I actually feel bad saying that to the OP, it's only the other one who's the jackass.

I have never been north of Arkansas. I have never really had the urge or money to travel.

Wife went for a week for work and I tagged along. Times square was the worst part of the trip, but that's where the conference hotel was. I spent all of my days just walking the city. Walked from battery park to central park. Times Square was the only miserable place to get around.

Newark would by far be the cheapest from here. Either by SWA or United.

I've flown both from here.

You take a train from the airport to it's Terminal at Penn Station. Times Square is a short walk away.

Now it seems they have unexpectedly changed the venue to the UN hotel in East Manhattan, just below Central Park and near Broadway.

I will have to restart my research of the area, although it sounds like getting out of Times Square wasnt a bad thing.

Newark. Take NJ Transit to Penn Station and it's just a few blocks. You can take the Subway directly from Penn Station or you can walk.

Laguardia is my preference and I fly about 4-8 times a month. JFK and Newark take much longer, but I'm on the Upper East Side.

This. You can get the NJ transit right from Newark airport. Easy peasy.

We always fly into Laguardia...by the time we get our bags and head to the taxi stand, we are at our hotel (Sheraton at 53rd @ 7th, a few blocks from Times Square) in 20 minutes.

Also, if you are flying into Laguardia sit on the left side of the plane to see an awesome view of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan as you approach the airport. Have fun!

The best two options....

Cab from LaGuardia...Cab to doorman service for a price (I would not use anything but a yellow cab with a flat rate...lots of scams)

JFK...airtrain to penn station walk out to the cab line..short trip to your hotel

Honestly the only two options I would go with

Being your first time just take the Cab into the city..it's worth the experience

Thanks again everyone.

It looks like cab from Laguardia will be the route taken.

Looking forward to the trip, we will be there from June 6-10.
