a stronger storm would have made it into LA as it would have fought off that ridge and turned north much sooner

The guys doing the feed were out there with him. They said he doesn't speak English very well. Said he wanted police and had a bad back.

It happens every time without failure

The UH professor during one of those April/May floods a few years ago at the Yale underpass was the funniest

There's another car just by the underpass shadow you can barely see now. Right hand side of screen.

The ridge was stout enough to steer even a strong storm into Texas. The ridge would have had to come in much weaker for the system to get farther east.

There is local fishing guide down in Matagorda that gets out in the worst of these events and films his adventures, he has been reporting from Matty all last night and this morning. He just made it to Sargent a minutes ago, it appears most places over there held up better than I would have thought. I believe his FB is open, look up Michael Kubecka, be warned he's got a little Baw in him

You can probably ease into the conversation and ask her to call Centerpoint to remove it since it looks close to the line. But they almost certainly won't

This fricker is just spitting out tornado warnings left and right on the east side. Hazard of a sloppy deteriorating storm.

It’s pretty calm in Katy now. Light wind and light drizzle/mist. Guess we are in the eye now. Looks like inside the loop got the worst of it.

In east Katy near Raintree Village, wind is picking up again. Half of my south side fence was down in the neighbor's back yard when I went out this morning, but a big gust just picked it up and set it back up in it's original spot and it's holding! The wind is going the other direction now. Couple branches down too, but we never lost power.

What amazes me:
Storm starts in Africa
Storm crosses Atlantic
Storm hits islands
Storm hits Mexico
Storm enters gulf
Storm eye comes and goes over my head just south of Henderson Texas

Such a crazy event.
