I’ve known one Beryl my entire life. She was a tough tough old woman.

Oof. This will be the first hurricane season in our new house. Thank God for the whole home generator because I really do have a stand up freezer full of titty milk

Aircraft observations of Hurricane #Beryl suggest that its intensification trend is taking a pause. Central pressure values have been fairly steady in the neighborhood of 960mb for the past 8 hours, and the max winds in the eyewall may have even decreased a bit.

It wouldn't be surprising for #Beryl's small core to go through organizational phases that lead to intensity fluctuations both up and down. This is especially true in the presence of light northeasterly shear that is beginning to change direction, leading to perturbations in the hurricane's structure. The @NOAA_HurrHunter aircraft recently measured a vortex tilt of 12 km from a height of 2 to 5 km, indicating that the shear is having some impact on the inner core.

Beryl remains extremely dangerous with winds well in excess of 100 mph. Hopefully those in the hurricane warning areas are getting prepared and hunkering down tonight.

Patreon isn't bad, and you can still do it through PayPal. I give monthly to Tornado Talk and Hurricane Track (Mark Sudduth). I've never had an issue with it and can cancel whenever I want.

I mentioned in a previous thread yesterday but my wife and I just got to to Jamaica for our honeymoon today. Hoping Beryl makes a hard turn south. Otherwise this will get real fun... Not sure I want to go through another natural disaster after just going through the tornado that just went through Temple, TX.

The way the eye has looked the last little bit kind of looks like it. It may not be terrible timing for the islands if they could catch it before it completes the process.

Take a good look at your hotel. Make changes now if you need to. Buy yourselves some rations ahead of time, water snacks, stuff that will keep. Keep your devices charged (find some power banks if you can), and don't forget to record (only half joking).

Good luck, bud. Try to stay involved in this thread.

You better try some to make sure it doesn’t have the enzyme that makes the milk taste and smell like pickles.

Jamaica has one of the highest murder rates in the world. It’s gonna be a dangerous shite show if the island gets hammered by this thing. I’d leave now, tbh.

It's the newest sandals resort on the island, hoping the building codes are quite strenuous
