It really does change your life. I've never felt more helpless than telling my daughter I'm leaving to go offshore and her begging me not to go. I contemplate quitting without a backup plan every hitch.

I used to worry about that but I've enjoyed every age so far. My oldest is a 14 year old girl. She's getting to be a little stressful.

Congratulations man! It really does change you as a person. No greater love than a child's love.

It is amazing...until that little fart wakes up at 2 am and refuses to go back to sleep. Just hanging out over here.

It's just a kid.
Congrats, you've accomplished what 95% of life on earth has.

Enjoy every minute it's awesome. I have an eight month old and a "threenager". Only regret is not having them sooner.

we just had another baby girl 1 week ago after already having a "threenager" ourselves. I was terrified about having another one, and had been saying the whole time like this is the absolute last one, but now that's she's here, I'd do it all over again. I love my girls and yes I'm far and above a different person than 3 years ago.

I'm sitting here holding my two week old daughter and I've never felt at such peace before.
Every day I see my daughter, I'm at peace and she is 34.

Doesn't make it an less crazy of a feeling as a parent.
You love your parents, sibling, significant other, or pretty much anyone? Think of that feeling instantly as you see your kid for the first time except wayyyy more intense. My son can be annoying as shite, but I still catch myself daydreaming about coming home and playing with him.
You don't want to have kids, that's perfectly fine. But don't act above it, because you have no idea what it's like.

Just about anybody can father a child, BUT, to raise one as a Dad, 95% of the people just CAN"T do!

Congrats. Enjoy.
16 years from now, you'll be an "a-hole".
My son (6) just told me last night "I ruin everything!" For the dickish move of not allowing him to jump from couch to ottoman until he break a couch or a bone.
"Car seat/carrier" age is a great age too. Go eat as often as possible while they are captive in the carrier. Get all those meals out of the way. You never what you're gonna get when they turn 2 as far as restaurant behavior.

Nilla Wafer is 3 mos old. I didn't miss but a few nights of sleep the first week and that's it. MrsWafer (no pics) let me sleep thru the night and would sleep during the day when she could. She wanted us to get used to what it would be like when I went back to work before it happened so it wouldn't be a shock after two weeks.

Exactly.
If he's going to brag he should wait until he proves he can at least do what you're parents have done, raise a shite bag.
